Watch out for sogtrident7

I have seen an email exchange between sogtrident and jaydev. The emails I have seen end with sogtrident stating that the Delivery Conf. shows that the Ritter was delivered but it in fact was not and Jaydev asking sogtrident to inform him when it does arrive. We can come to the conclusion that it did in fact arrive because sogtrident was able to trade it for an Emerson to catmath 1911 on BFC, who then listed it for sale, and withdrew it when Jaydev explained the situation.

Now we have another member coming forward, stating he engaged in a trade with sogtrident and recieved a box with empty ammunition boxes and then the knives he traded for in poorer condition than described and agreed to.

There is a 3rd case on the other knife forum where Sogtrident claimed another trader ripped him off that may not be all it seems. Jaydev is looking into that transaction as well.

It seems that sogtrident is either an inept scammer or a very unorganized and poor trader. I personally would not deal with him or at the very least expect him to ship first and not ship until his end of the trade was IN HAND.

Hopefully Jaydev gets his Sebenza in the condition as described, or if catmath 1911 is returning the Ritter grip, that he is compensated for his emerson by Sogtrident that he is now in possession of.

Hey robbobus

Thanks for your story . To fill you in more that was my gold class grip that I traded with him the first time, that went smooth. That is the reason I trusted him. A large seb with micarta inlays is what he was supposed to send me. This guy should not be allowed on any blade forum! I know Ben Congleton also goes by haminator. So be careful
I would like to thank everyone on here! I appreciate all the support!!! This was a very frustrating experience but at this point I feel justice has prevailed ! Thanks Esav Benyamin for stepping in!

Here is a pic of the 072 M4 Ritter that was sent to me by Dan Berry, who I bought the 072 m4 Ritter with Micarta wilkins grips from.

Has this Sog character made good with you yet Jaydev??

Hey striderco,

No, this guy will not make good with me. This has been ongoing since april! He still denies that he ever recieved the knife! even with all the facts! It is amazing. I have gotten messages from other members and turns out this guy is up to a lot of shady stuff! I just wonder if I can file a complaint with his local police department or with the USPS .

Keep on this Jaydev!! Looks like hes got a criminal past so it wont look good in front of a judge if he has another theft in his file! Follow through with the police. Even if you dont get your money or stuff back at least he ll get what he deserves! And thats some shiny new matching steel bracelets!

It all makes sense now! Here is what a member on the forums sent me.

Benjamin Lueck Congleton, 30, Leeway Drive, receiving and concealing stolen property on Aug. 14, 93 days in jail suspended, restitution held open, six months probation, attend substance abuse program, complete 60 hours of community service, may not use or possess drugs or alcohol, subject to random drug and alcohol screening.

...Aug. 14, 93 days in jail suspended, restitution held open, six months probation...

If this was Aug 14, 2011, and he is on 6 months probation, then he still under court supervision, and perhaps you could contact the judge or his probation officer. This might be enough reason to revoke his probation and stick him in jail for 93 days.

Sogtrident is a scamming thief, thats the only true explanation.

Glad that Essav has dealt with him

Contact the Dept. of probation ASAP, his PO will resolve this quickly.

Good idea- they might be able to motivate him to do the right thing.

I would like to thank all the bladeforum members that have stuck up for me and helped me through this. Ben has contacted me and apologizes for what he has done. We are currently working things out! Thanks again bf members who took my back! Without you I don't think this would have worked out.

So what happened? Worked it out how?

Personally, I don't know if I'd do any business with SogTrident regardless but at least he made it right.

He has agreed to pay me back the money I originally paid for the Ritter/ wilkins and the money I spent to buy it back from catmath.

The newspaper article concerning his criminal adjudication and sentence was a most useful and telling link. The disposition from that court order is only a fraction of what his probation officer can require of him. I would expect that part of his probation agreement also might likely include that he not possess weapons of any type. Maybe or maybe not, but it is very likey the case.

If he does have such a requirement in his probation contract and he violates any part of his probation contract or the original court order, he can be required to begin serving any suspended jail sentence after a probation violation hearing. Enough reason to 'come to his senses' to my way of thinking.

Then again............not for everyone.

Good luck.
