Do not use PayPal to deal with Zachary Zunin or John Henry [uppercrustea@gmail.com] (Not sure which name is correct - the email address is the same)

Zachary Zunin
60 flint st,
ASHEVILLE, NC 28801
United States

Or

John Henry
24 old hwy 20
Asheville, NC 28806

United States

This person ordered from me but once I shipped to his PP confirmed address (60 Flint St) he requested the package be shipped to a different address (24 Old Hwy 20). I could not change the ship to address anymore so he immediately filed a claim with PP. They did not care that I had shipped to a PP confirmed address and since there was no proof of delivery they refunded the payment to him.

So the seller protection is for nothing and until now I was not able to get anything from PayPal – not even the info what I should have done better/differently. The package was sent via registered mail but the info ends at Asheville post office with “unable to deliver” notification (RR214508014CZ).

So in case you are approached by Zachary Zunin or John Henry, be cautious. You may lose your money and your product.

Sounds like the package never did get delivered. AT least that is what I am getting from the OPs post. So, what's his beef that the guy filed a PP claim??
OP please add some more clarification and details. To start with - where is the pkg now? Who has it?

I would be doing a recall on the package since it seems it has not been delivered yet but the seller no longer has the funds.

Coud be a legit buyer though that just freaked out about the address thing and filed a premature claim and maybe will still pony up if the knife ever makes it to him.

I do think with the undeliverable part from the PO it will be coming back to the seller

I managed to call the Post Office and they said they had shipped it back. But it has been almost two weeks now. The main point is that the buyer does not have to keep the address up to date and PP does not care. And the buyer filed the claim one day afer I shipped the knife (kit).

Two weeks since you shipped it? And was payment made F&F or G&S?

I will also state that the complaint I am seeing is more in PP and service issues with them lacking consistency.

OK, sounds like you shipped it to the address he had listed. Maybe he moved and forgot to change his shipping address in PP. Sounds like he got overly worried and prematurely filed a claim with paypal. Heck maybe the wrong address thing made him have time to get buyer's remorse. Anyway, you did nothing wrong here. I'll assume you guys had timely and civil communications during this time period?
I do not agree with what he did based on what you have stated - he should have waited to see what info the PO could give and have some patience - after all - he created the whole shipping problem himself.
At the minimum he should pay you for your shipping to him if he no longer wants the knife. Hopefully it will come back to you soon.

Also, have you advised him of this thread? If not you should. Did you have any communication with him after he filed the PP claim? what did he say?

You are still not providing the whole story here.

It has been two weeks since the package was (maybe) sent back. Just check the tracking. I shippped it on Feb. 03, he filed the claim on Feb 04. On Feb. 16 the package arrived at the post office. I told him to pick it up - he said there was no package.

And no, I did not tell him about this thread and yes, I am mad at him + PP - because this can happen to anyone. Even people who do not update their address are protected. And if I had shipped to a different address I would have lost the money immediately. I lost it anyway but at least I did nothing wrong.

When you say PP didn't care, did you try to get an explanation why and did you push it up to higher levels. It seems you did nothing wrong by reason or policy and I wouldn't throw in the towel with PP too easily. They do sometimes refund the money to buyer then pay the seller under their protection plan(and this can be delayed)
Hope you get it worked out or the package back.

David,
Are you in the Czech Republic? Overseas? Asking since the time in shipping seems long.
Am also curious if it was a F&F transaction as the sets you up for a loss in my mind.
Hope it turns out well.
