Watch pocket carry?

I've just gotten into carrying my 3-1/2" Everyday Barlow in my watch pocket. Perfectly handy way to carry it.

Question is... has anyone ever lost a knife out of a watch pocket?

Though I have never done it, the watch pocket seems like a pretty secure place to carry.

I haven't lost one - BUT I have washed more than one! Easy to forget or overlook a small knife stuck in a small pocket....

The only knives I've ruined with wash & dry were lesser quality, but I'm now paranoid about messing up a nice one. As a rule, I try not to watch-pocket carry any more.

I have never had an issue with watch pocket carry, its nice to have your knife more easy to take out, use and put away. The downside for me is that its not very compatible with a leather pouch because while the watch pocket is small enough to keep your knife from twisting and being annoying, if you put it in a pouch in that pocket you still have to take the pouch out then the knife and its all a tight fit. I put users in the watch pocket so I can get them out and use quickly, nicer stuff in a pouch in another pocket.

I'll find out :p. Just started carrying a 3 7/8" knife there today. Never thought to stash a knife there, would've assumed it wouldn't fit. But seeing people mention carrying knives there got me curious and whadda ya know it fits nicely. Ah the scratches I could've saved. I always considered it a change pocket.

If you wear jeans, and get them from Costco, they have a huge "watch Pocket", that will swallow a 4 1/4 knife with ease.

I think it depends on the length of the knife. I wear Levi 501's and anything 3 1/4" and under works great. However, I used to carry a Case/Bose Norfolk in the watch pocket and it slipped out. A real shame because it was a beautiful knife.

I always carry on my watch pocket and have not lost one yet seems more secure than my front pocket.

I strictly carry my knife in my watch pocket and have never lost a knife from there. On my favorite pair of jeans my knife has worn a hole that it can easily slide thru, so i just tilt it the other way now... problem solved..

Actually yeah, I've had a few knives fall out (thankfully never lost) when I tried carry them there, usually when sitting. Women's pants have a sorry excuse for a watch pocket though, barely enough room for a tube of chapstick. I guess I could probably get away with a vic classic or something equally small but I'll stick to my front pocket or purse for now.

I used to have an AG Russell 3.0 Titanium Lockback that I carried in my watch pocket and lost. Real shame, I liked that knife. Never had problems before or after.

Beats me. I carry a pocket watch in my watch pocket.

I'v carried a small multitool in my watchpocket for a few years and have added knives up to 3.5" for the last year. Never lost any of them.

Once I washed the multitool with my pants, I don't think that will happen again... (fingers crossed)

A couple of years ago, I lost my Swissbianco Red 'Pioneer/soldier' knife. :( Now I'm definitely very mindful that my knife doesn't slip out.
