Well, this has probably been discussed before but I had to find out if anyone keeps their knife in their pocket watch pocket. I have put larger knives in mine where the knife poked out an inch and lost a good knife when I sat down at a restaurant.

I no longer put anything longer than a 3" knife in that pocket. I often carry a larger knife in my right full size pocket and a peanut or something small in the pocketwatch pocket.

How about you guys?

I've been carrying my seahorse (4" closed) in the watch pocket of my jeans for the past week or so and never got the impression it would pop out. It sits at a slant and sticks out about 3/8". I am a student and sit down often :D

On the other hand, I have lost pencils and pens that sat all the way in my pocket.

I always do it if I'm wearing jeans that have one. It just makes it easier to get the knife out when it isn't in a pocket with other stuff. I haven't noticed it falling out any more so than when I have it in the bottom of my left front pocket.

I often carry my Case swayback jack in a watch pocket. The shape and size works perfectly (it usually lies at an angle) and it's a joy to use and admire.

I always carry my EDC Tidioute Cuban stockman in the watch pocket of my jeans when I'm wearing them.

It does not stick out at all, but then again, I'm 6'1" and 250 lbs., so big pockets!

Never do. I find it inconvenient. Front pocket with the change or rear pocket with the wallet 99.99% of the time.

I like to take advantage of that pocket whenever I can.

As long as it goes all the way into the pocket without sticking out at all, then its fine with me.

Knife size and pocket size can vary a lot.

I carry either my Case Peanut or Sway Back Jack or GEC #25 in the watch pocket.

I pretty much always wear "farmer" jeans - Key brand - and the watch pocket seems pretty large compared to Wrangler's or Levi's or Lee's. For an experiment, I just put in my Case Trapper (4 1/8"), and it fit nicely ..... good inch and a half between knife and top of the watch pocket. I never carry that size knife in the watch pocket, but the point is that it does make a difference what brand of jeans you wear. (Okay, I'll shut up now. ;))

I keep my pocket watch in my watch pocket. I never wear a wrist watch.

I carry a whittler in a belt pouch, a jack in my front pocket and a small pen or peanut in my watch pocket.

That makes for a very large watch
Does that mean you have a lot of time on your hands?

I wear jeans pretty much every day of the year, and almost always have a small knife in there, either a peanut or my Vic Rambler. The biggest one I carry in there is my Buck 55 because don't want the keys in my pocket to mar the beautiful brass and wood handles. Anything bigger gets dropped down in the pocket.

I carry jeans regularly at work and a lot in my freetime. I edc knifes around 3.5 inches like the medium case stockman or mini trapper, case scout jr, sodbuster jr or puma prospector. My jeans is mostly LEEs and the size is 36. They all fit that pocket. If I carry one of my trappers its to big to go all in the pocket and if it sticks up I think its a pocket that is easy to loose it from. As I always has a pocketknife with me I try before bying the jeans and if the fifth knifepocket is to narrow there will be no deal.

watch pocket is perfect my my Case Pen Knife, Buck 309 companion, GEC #25, Victorinox Cadet or some modern folder clipped there.

Sometimes my peanut gets in there when it is carried as a secondary to another knife. I have had bigger knives there, depending on what pants I have on that have bigger pockets, but my usual wranglers are limited to about 3.5" comfortably.

I carry a pocket watch too BTW, but never in that pocket... I like to be able to tell time while sitting, and find it hard to get a watch out of that pocket while seated- on the other hand the knife is easily retrieved while sitting. The watch goes in a shirt pocket.

I always carry my slipjoints in my watch pocket. Very easy to access the knife.

I didn't like the nearly vertical position that the knife sat in the watch pocket of my Levis so I found some jeans that allow horizontal carry in the watch pocket of anything up to about 4 1/2 inches.

It's been working out great for over a year now.

I carry my Case Peanut or GEC #25 Barlow in the watch pocket, if available. I can get a Boker Subcom in there too, if I am having a rare, "untraditional" day.;)

The little coin pouch that is sewn inside the right pocket of some pants is a good place for these knives too.

I go so far as to specifically shop for pants with watch pockets now.

If I have jeans on, my Menefee 3 1/4" swayback will always be in my watchpocket. Perfect fit for that watch pocket.

I also carry a knife with clip on right pocket, and my KHnutbuster in my left pocket.
