Water Filters

IN my kit I have some purifying tabs and a "McNett Frontier Emergency Water Filter System". According to the package it removes pathogens and contaminents down to 2 microns in size. Essentially its a drinking straw. While we're on the topic of filtration has anyone used or heard of how effective these are?

I went with the Sawer in-line filter and a Platypus 4 liter bag. It is not very big and the water flows easily. The Platypus has a line adapter.

I use a PUR (now Katadyn) Hiker. It does a good job at getting the bugs, but chemicals are required for virus.

Same here. Works pretty well.

After filtering through the hiker, no taste.

That's the activated charcoal part. It will reduce chemicals, but it's mostly designed to reduce bad taste, not really as a chemical protection part.
