It's a tip down carry but curious if a wave hook mod can be done on the military. Thanx.

I don't know if it would work tip down (not a wave expert myself) but Charlie Mike here can certainly make the mod.

the only way a wave mod works is if the blade is tip-up, because the action of pulling the knife out of the pocket needs to allow for the blade to get 'caught' on the pocket edge and open the blade outwards, which carrying tip-down would make impossible.

greetings, i'll try this again. not a computer genius so I screwed up the first reply. anyway, even if you incorporated the thumb-hole as the wave, grinding down the spine that much would surely thin out the blade thickness. unlike the endura with the saber grind, think it would be a bad idea on a great knife. take care.

Is that new? I got a Military a few years back in a passaround and the only reason I never bought one was it was a one-position clip.

It's got holes for the clip, top and bottom. Without the wave, the military is still a very good knife

Are you thinking of the paramilitary or an earlier version because the only military that i've seen that has any other clip position is with custom scales

Kinda what I was thinking but I haven't kept up and figured they made a new version or something.

If your Military is tip up you could put a zip tie around the hole. I've used it on a Manix and a Delica before. Worked pretty good and costs next to nothing. Not as aesthetically pleasing as a well done wave mod, but functional.

I think you would need to have it drilled and tapped for tip-up carry since I haven't seen a tip-up military. Adding a wave can be done either in front of the thumb hole (like a waved endura) or by cutting through the thumb hole as Charlie Mike has done to many Spydercos. You can do either way yourself with files/hacksaw/dremel BUT it will look pretty ugly IMHO.
