Wave patent violation?

Ernie is gonna have a fieldday with this. Poor schmoes not gonna know which end is up by the time it's over:)

I think the only thing that keeps that from being an exact copy of the Commander is that the handle is identical to that of Crawford's KFF..................

It most certainly does have a Crawford KFF handle, much like the CRKT collaboration, not to mention a HAWG Force One blade. If you look really close at the grind lines, you'll see the Force One resemblence. Three ripoffs in one: Wave, KFF, and Force One and all for just a fraction of the price.

It is not the handle of the Commander that is patented...just the hook on the blade, and that is pretty blatant. I am surprised they don't call it the ADV Special:D

Have people no freakin shame!?

My two favorite lines from the ad for this POS are:

"The thing on the back catches the pocket of your pants"

"$19.95" . . . "Cheaper by the Dozen."

Someone's getting spanked

Go get 'em Ernie!
Does anyone know if Pat Crawford has a patent on the handle of his KFF?
Think we should contact him also? Would love to see two great makers team up on these creeps.

I just sent an email/link to EKI. This company also sells Emerson, so I am sure they (EKI) will bring some pressure.

Lets all email 888Knivesrus and let them know what we think!

They are shameless. I hope they get fined so bad
that they are forced out of business. No integrity
whatsoever. I want to use people like that for target
practice.

E-mail sent to 888 knives....let's see what happens next.

Any comments Derek?

I'm at a loss for words.

This one is even worse than the S. African incident!

Can't wait to see what happens to these low lifes.

imho, after observing what rolex/TAG/cartier/pan/etc did a yr or so ago to several websites selling fakes, ya take em to court and get a court order for them to cease/desist selling the things - then and only then if they ignore the court order, they get arrested, and closed down - ie - www.fakegifts.com, sold fake rolex. etc all high end watches, mostly junk even at $120 or so, but rolex jakked w/them for about 6 months before they finally closed him down, and if memory serves, the owner was billing people then not shipping, theft, and this contributed to his demise more than anything - it seems to be hard to enforce patent violations, at least the ones i have read up on.....though it certainly CAN be done-

that said the knife IS a blatant rip-off of emerson, crawford, and they should BOTH pursue the matter.....i bet it is a great knife too, at $19.95 lol

I've seen knives like this at the gun shows (not with the wave but copies of other well known knives). The bad thing about these knives is that they aren't marked so you don't know who is making them. They are mostly made in China and the boxes aren't marked. Its a shame to see top makers and companies being ripped off.
michael :D

The sad thing is that Knives R Us knows better they just chose to ignor the business community that they are a part of.

Therefor, Light 'em up!

I have seen alot of this sort of thing first hand in retail, including several big busts of retail operations selling fake goods. For instance Oakley and Tommy Hilfiger have dedicated private security firms that go after stores that sell fake goods in their name.
