Today I was trying to purchase a knife from waxman knife works and while I was trying to make a purchase, bouncing emails back and forth they sold the knife out from under me. when I complained I actually got an email calling me names, insulting my education, and was told to go f myself,it was totally classless,i guess that is why they are going out of business.no loss though they were trying to charge $14 to ship one knife within the us,ripoff alert.

Yikes... I just saw their sale and thought I would try a few knives. I just pulled the trigger, then saw this here.

I will follow up with my experience... hopefully it will be a bit better than yours.

they are/were a very small 2 man operation that sold mostly import cutlery.i dont know how to post the email he sent and i would have to edit a lot of the language out anyway.it way a childish rant from a small minded man.i was trying to spend money and he has no idea how to run a web site or business.they were in the process of closing up anyway so thats good for everyone.i would never permit someone to talk to me that way face to face.it was almost unbelieveable.i am glad that the people here arent supporting his shop.

You could copy and paste it into quote tags then edit out the foul language if you wanted to post it.

Oh also, the first shipping option that comes up is UPS. It was a little pricey.. I chose USPS insured and the cost was more reasonable. 6.00 approximately for 4 knives shipped in the US.

I ship watches around all the time and thats about right for a small Priority mail Insured package in my experience.

Just a heads up.

Well, I just received a shipping notification. Ordered yesterday and the knives shipped today. So far my transaction is going just fine.

looking at the waxman website, it has a shopping cart, if you were still sending out emails, someone could have easily bought the knife you were looking at in the meantime. If this is what happened (and your original post does not make this clear), how is this the fault of the dealer?

regarding the rude communication, there is no excuse for that.

I have to say, I placed an order on Sunday night and all 4 knives arrived safe and sound this morning. All are just exactly as ordered and no problems at all!

If they were not going out of business I would order from them again!
