WE ARE IN THE DARK AGES!!

You are so right C L
Everyone is so open and sharing.
I think I see my problem, looks like I'll have to go to a finer grit finish! BTW these lightsabers are very hard on belts.

If a light saber is adequate for penetrating 3 foot thick titanium nitrite @ HRC 10K, what could you do with a heavy saber?

(Notice I did NOT ask that you suggest what I could do with it...)

Actually Neil, as you approach the spped of light time slow down in your frame of reference. Now we don't need to get into the details here, but when travelling that fast, even if a light saber had a patented Spydeco hole cut into it ot would still take seemingly forever to get the blade out!!

If only Einstein were a knifemaker...

mciampag,
If I am travelling at the speed of light, that means some other crazy people are probaby travelling at the speed of light also!

SO... That means the possibility of Warp Rage! Therefore I need my light saber!!
Crayola,
This is a thread about LIGHT SABERS!! Not the damn time space continu-UM theory! HELL, I cant even spell CONTINUUUU-UH-UH-AH-HUH-UM!!!

Dr.Lathe,
I realize that this is not a thread about the space/time continuum, nor about the continuu ahhh eh um (or however you spell it!) I merely wanted to point out that your question is moot, as the closer you get to the speed of light, the longer it would take for you to turn the damn thing on, Spyder hole or not! Well, maybe if you used really good teflon washers... let me check my book,
Einstein's Guide to Making Knives Adjusted for Relativistic Speeds..... page 46..... nope! Not even teflon washers will help! Sorry Dr. Lathe!

you guys are BOTH wrong...if you would pay closer attention you would see that they are automatics and all you have to do is push a button to activate them....just like a valloton!!!!

Many years back Isaac Asimov wrote a series of Juvenile SF about a hero named Lucky Starr. His sidekick carried a gadget called a force knife. Infinitely thin and infinitely sharp--also it was unbreakable. It was also an automatic. I always wanted one of those.
