Hi folks,

We've had a little set back here at Fiddleback Forge. More specifically I have cut the flexor tendon in my right hand pinky finger. It happened at home late at night trying to do too many things at once. I am having surgery tomorrow (Wed) to fix it, and looking at approx 6 weeks of diminished capacity. It's a bit of a kick in the teeth no doubt.

So, Andy and the rest of the crew will be pulling more weight then usual for the next few weeks. Give us a little extra time if you would on things like answering emails, shipping, and the like. Our goal is to keep production up as much as possible.

On a personal note, I'm no stranger to injuries and take the recovery from them quite seriously, so hopefully this will be a slight bump in the road. I like to believe I'm a rugged fellow. :D

Thanks,
Ken

awww man! I am sorry! Good luck and health and a speedy recovery! Smoke and positive juju incoming.

Man, that's terrible Ken! Smoke sent your way and good luck with the surgery! Get well soon.

St. Johnswort oil or tincture topically and gotu kola tincture internally. Will expedite healing and reduce scarring tremendously.

Ken,
I'm really sorry to hear that you injured yourself -- please take care and my best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Smoke incoming Ken. Hoping for a speedy recovery.

Ken, Really sorry to hear about your injury! Get well; as part of the Fiddleback Family, we'll keep you in our prayers!

Thanks a lot Shane - and everybody else. Both the surgeon and the physical therapist said the scarring was the biggest issue. I will definitely look into these. I also have a tincture from my old kung fu teacher, stuff we call jao, that works miracles on soft tissue injuries.

Smoke and prayers sent. Try to enjoy and relax with the time off, before you head back to the grind.

Aw, man! That sucks. My brother is just now back to work after running his hands into a table saw blade (he's a construction worker). Like Joe said, smoke and prayers sent.

Ken:

So sorry to hear of your injury. If the concern for scarring is external, there are excellent silicone based moist wound healing products that will definitely help. Best wishes for a speedy recovery my friend.

Godspeed in your recovery Ken! I will be there Monday to start helping out!

Damn, hate to hear this man! Smoke sent! I have been hurt a few times in my years of cabinet making, and I know what it is like to work with an injured hand. Don't mess around and do permanent damage trying to rush it back to full operating speed!

Ken,

I am very sorry to hear about your injury. That's really tough especially since you work so much with your hands. I will keep you and your family in my prayers for a complete recovery. It sounds you have experience with allowing yourself to recover properly before overdoing it. Most guys are too headstrong and impatient to wait for proper healing before we jump right back into it (don't ask me how I know :o)

It looks like Andy is going to have to attach the ball and chain to MajorD when he visits, so that he has enough help to bridge the gap while you are out. We will miss you while you are out recovering. I am sure that the rest of the crew will rise to the occasion to support Andy. Don't worry about things at the shop. Your long term health is the most important thing.

Praying for you and wishing you a full recovery.

Phil
