Well, somehow I managed to talk enough to make it to 1k, in no small part due to BK&T and all the wonderful people who hang out here. As I've got to celebrate this somehow, I decided a giveaway seems appropriate (with a bit of coaxing), since you all are awesome enough to lead by example. So I needed to look through my box of knives in a search for one that I didn't use and that should be being used.
Well, I found one: the BK4 I bought near the start of my addiction to BK&T knives but never really used, since my BK9 has succeeded in keeping it's #1 status, the BK4 has been left alone and unused in the deepest, darkest depths of my cardboard storage box of knives. I think it's time to free it to live a better, more fulfilling life as a chopping phenom in the hands of a loving new owner. Only thing to mention is the coating on one side is smoothed out a bit near the sweet spot, it came like that from the factory and shouldn't affect anything but looks (you can see it in the picture if you look close)
Now, bear with me since my only experiences with GAW have been watching others happening, so I'll try to make this one fair and not too exclusive.
To qualify, just state 'this is my official entry' in your post, along with the following:
a) Becker owners - If you own a Becker, just post a picture of your Becker alongside a favorite object of your choosing; I'm going to leave the choice of object up to you, so it can really be anything you want as long as it is your favorite of that particular object's kind. Favorite folding knife, beer, car, child, bagel, toothbrush, music video, book, it's really up to you. For my entertainments' sake I'd love to see you guys get creative, but unique objects don't influence the results in any way so don't expect anything more than kudos from me for getting into the spirit of the GAW.
b) Non-owners - If you don't own a Becker and want this one to be your first, I have a task for you: Since you can't take pictures of a Becker, I just want to know why you want this one to be your first; write me up a little something convincing me that the Becker would be well-loved in your knife collection and getting the use it deserves. Get creative, I'm opening it up to all but I'd like to see some effort put forward so I don't just get a bunch of one-line posts, you won't win without at least a little effort.
This contest will run until the end of the month, so September 30 at 11:59 it ends. I will then use an RNG for determining the winner, with the caveat that if I'm not pleased with the result I'll re-roll until I am.
