*WE HAVE A WINNER* BK4 Machax GAW! - 1000 post milestone and Beckerhead acceptance

I'm in for this BK4 machax. It looks to b an excellent short compact chopping blade that could be used effectively almost anywhere. Because I have used machetes to clear survey lines in Alaska and to plant taro in Samoa, I feel qualified to give this tool the use it deserves. I would like to use it or to pass it on to friends who can use it as well as I can.:D

As a Peace Corps volunteer in Western Samoa, I saw how skilled locals could use a blade like this for anything and everything. The only other knife half as useful to me was a Camillus stainless steel GI pocket knife that stayed behind with a friend of mine - the pocket knife and a machete made a great combination.

This is my offical entry.

Every BK I still got is a favorite.:o Honestly couldn't choose one over other if had to. Different scenarios means a different BK Fav for the day. My BK2 modded clip point that someone put custom scales on too is a priceless BK to me though. All them are now after getting attached to really.

At the shack appemting to get a deer. Went out this morning and saw nuttin. Nice day and to friggin windy for them too be moving I figure. Don't think I'm going out tonight unless wind completely dies down. Not sure about how I feel about my stand placement either. Put on a rock ridge close to a Swamp . Tons of trails and saw doe 10 yards away from it going to Che k out my game camera yesterday. So that's good. But think where I put it is Very close to where I see them bed down so not sure if gonna kick them out of there or not. Not alot of big trees to choose from so had to go with that one. Well see I guess might have to move it. There are other spots farther back wanted to be but didn't have enough time to get things set and and enough time to scout. I got a buck 2 years ago probably 70 yards away from where the stand is set so thinking will do well. Never bow hunted and after sitting this morning thinking this is gonna be harder than was thinking. Worried. But, will try there a week and just might have to move the stand. Sux since it's a ladder one. Might just use a blind in a different spot instead. IDK. Kinda losing it here. Rambling I see.

If I would have seen a deer I don't know if would have been able to pull bow back cause my arms are so sore from zhooting. Probably shot 500 times last 2-3 days. I'm done. I will have to warm my shoulders up before I go out to marrow to relieve soreness I think. Seriously, Anyhoo:rolleyes:

Got the BK14SG on know and with my other favorite thing at the moment. My bow. Not my greatest grouping but this way sitting at 40yrds and I'm sore as hell.

Thanks alot for the GAW KING. :thumbup:Haven't had my hands on a 4 yet and wouldn't mind trying one out. I think for trail clearing there wouldn't be a better BK for the job.

My BK11 and one of my favorite things, the Oregon Ducks! Go Ducks!

Thanks for the chance, kingMC.

I'd love to give that Becker a try. I've put serious thought into buying a BK 17, but money has been tight. I'd use that BK Machax for camping. It would be well used and cared for. 'this is my official entry' A Becker would be a great addition to my camping gear. I'd like to find out what a Becker is about.

I am in. This would be my first becker, and I can't think of a better becker to start with than the legendary bk4. I also need a chopper in my collection, I don't have a single one, well wait I have a tramontia and an okc machete but something more knifelike. Beckers have a huge following and they scream quality, I just haven't had the chance to pick one up yet. I almost got a 9 before but got sidetracked. So thanks for the chance!:)

This thread is awesome guys, lots of variety and it's just the first day. I already wish I had more than one to give out, so many people who need a 4 :D

I love my Beckers and I love my Jeep!

This is my official entry.

Thanks for the chance!

I have yet to purchase, use, or own a Becker...:(
I have also never owned or used a Kukri blade, but I have gotten alot of use out of machetes, as well as a hatchets.
From the tasks involved in scouting new areas, brush & branch clearing for a sucessful deer hunt, to an ideal wood /
kindling batoning & processing, chopping camp knife, I believe that this BK 4 Machax would definitely bridge the gap
between a hatchet and a machete, in one very useful outdoor task tool and make for a great woodsman's fixed blade,
as well.
Please count me in, as I will gladly put it through the rigors that it was designed and intended for.
Congrats on the 1000 mark, and Thanks for the great GAW chance, B.T.B. :)

I can't help but be entertained by the incredibly simple instructions King gave for entering and how many people have failed to do it.:D

In all fairness, King, requesting that people write 5 whole words to win a knife they want so much was really asking too much.

Probably skipped to the bolded parts, my fault for having too many words...

It'll just give those of us who follow directions better odds lol

Thanks for the generous GAW King!

I am not a fan of posting photos of my family so I chose a picture I took camping with my beloved 11. On a trip to Colorado with my Son & his boy scout troop. I love camping & being outdoors.
Congratulations on 1K.

THIS IS MY OFFICIAL ENTRY (If after reading, you find it qualifies).

I would love to try a Becker out.

I have never owned one because I kind of jumped into knives with CS, and then moved over to Busse.

By the time I looked at becker I already had a few other big choppers to use. I have sold off most of my Busse (because of tax issues, not because I did not love them).

I have become more appreciative of simple high carbon steel knives, like my grandpa's Old Hickory etc.

Ive use a few other big choppers, and would love to compare with a Becker.

I like a recurve blade shape for a chopper. The grind on that looks like they did a good job keeping it thin behind the edge. I would like to give it a work out and see how it compares.

This is from a comparison I did with the Kershaw. I only have the green Busse Khukri still.

Good on you for doing a giveaway open to non Beckerheads. In years on this forum, I've seen more giveaways open to only Beckerheads, and have always found it very off putting. A giveaway is a great way to get people into the fold, and excluding those who are not already owners and Beckerheads always seemed counter productive to me.

I got into traditional folders because some one saw me asking a question about GEC knives, and surprised me with one. That intro lead me to buy a double handful more. I am now a life long GEC fan.

Not sure this is a good enough reason, but thanks for doing an open give away!
