Check out the Wyvern then. It's a cheaper version of the drakon. If I had the money for it, I would definitely get one.
It is and I've seen it. But I've got my eye on a 940 first, and one of those Lionsteel traditional folders. But after that it's probably the Drakon.Check out the Wyvern then. It's a cheaper version of the drakon.
You got to get over people wanting to buy USA knives. Its their prerogative to do so. You know as well as anyone why a Chinese knife of similar quality is less money than a USA version. Its no secret. My issue with the American only problem is why not just buy from multiple countries? There are tons of knife designs that just dont exist in America, so why not buy those designs that you like from another country? WE is easily on par with ZT, so the country of origin really shouldn't matter when it comes to the price. The American made integral Benchmade Anthem is 125 bucks more than the Drakon, and from what I gather it's just as likely to have quality issues as any other benchmade. Plus the pocket clip is complete trash on it since it doesnt touch the scale.
I have no issues with people buying USA made knives. The majority of mine are USA made. You got to get over people wanting to buy USA knives. Its their prerogative to do so. You know as well as anyone why a Chinese knife of similar quality is less money than a USA version. Its no secret.
Awesome.I have no issues with people buying USA made knives. The majority of mine are USA made.
It's not like we have Chinese and USA made versions of the same knife. I buy Chinese designs that I like and USA designs i like. They aren't really competing in my collection because they're all different. We is basically the Chinese ZT and even then they have almost no similar designs.
Damasteel would look amazing although I can't find the Damasteel version of the Drakon like you mentioned. The look of the knife is growing on me the more that I look at it. If your thinking on getting one be sure to take a look at the ones with the Damasteel blades. The almost mirror finish of the Damasteel blade next to the scaled pattern scales puts this integral over the top IMO.
This is very very tempting and looks like it would work great. Thank you!Looks to me like it would be fine with thin dress pants. Although the scales look aggressive on closer inspection they appear to be well smoothed by being tumbled and the pocket clip has some nice ramp to it.![]()
I think hes confusing it with a similar looking knife that has a damasteel version.Damasteel would look amazing although I can't find the Damasteel version of the Drakon like you mentioned.
I was wondering if I should get the Wyvern first or if I should take the plunge! I also want the Deacon and just ordered one, so I definitely can't afford the Drakon and the DeaconI have the Wyvern and love it, I definitely want to try the Drakon soon. I've never had an integral so it will be my first. To me it is kind of like a fantasy knife but for those of us that not so much into the cosplay scene, not that there's anything wrong with that!
You know, this is really great to see. I am currently in the process of selling a Md/Gavko Thresher because the clip placement sucks with the scale design and just tears my dress pants up going in and out of the pocket. I would be afraid I'd have the same exact issue with this one and that would be a true shame. I just took the plunge and ordered a We Knives Deacon, as it's been on my radar for months now and I believe that may be a more practical option anyway.I purchased the Drakon and was super excited for it to come. I got the brass and stone washed combo. It arrived and I played with it for two hours then immediately put it back in the box and returned it. I am lucky knifecenter let me return it with no hassle. Even paid my postage. I wanted to love the knife but the clip got in the way, it's a shame too because the handle felt amazing in my hand. For the way my hand is made or the size or something the clip just got in the way for my grip. It felt like a half finished knife. I pondered removing the clip but then what am I going to do with a heavy round knife rolling around in my pocket, kind of defeats the EDC mentality so I returned it. That's my experience for what its worth. I hope they make a newer updated version with a better clip placement and I would buy it in a heartbeat.
There's so much good stuff, my wife asked the other day, when will it end? Lol I don't know what to tell her because so many companies from all over the world are constantly coming out with new, amazing, well done, innovative designs. The great thing is, is that it’s all good stuff. It’s a great time to be in this hobby.
Apologies The good DR. is corect. I did confuse this knife with another I had seen a while backDamasteel would look amazing although I can't find the Damasteel version of the Drakon like you mentioned.
Oh wow, yeah that is fairly similar.Apologies The good DR. is corect. I did confuse this knife with another I had seen a while back. This was the knife I remembered >

That's probably the better idea, thank you for that! You might want to go with the Wyvern. Honestly it's my favorite $50 knife I've ever had. And since you like the Drakon but can't take the plunge on it yet I think this would scratch the itch for a fraction of the cost.
