WE vs KME vs Lansky

I have a KME and got it a few years before the K02 came onto the seen and if I had my choice it would be the K02 over the KME and all the other system's mentioned, the KME is a great system for the money but the problem is the gold series diamond hones they still wear out over time and to fast for what they cost when compared to other options out there such as the Poltava Metallic bonded CBN stones, also the K02 does not have rubber glued onto the jaws that always comes off and the standard double jaws for the K02 also go down to about 8 or 10 degree's no need to buy anything extra plus with the edge pro format stone system the stone choice for the K02 is much larger then the KME's or the WE's selection.

If you are sharpening Case knives the KME with pen blade attachment is the best option out there for systems imo.

I prefer freehand but when I want a degree of precision I pull out my KME.

Thanks for the advice Will. Contrary to my word I just ordered a pre-owned Landsky kit on eBay. The seller switched to a different sharpening system and put a Landsky and a Smith set up for sale. He is throwing in a lot of extra items with this sale.

The Lansky isn’t a bad system.
If you pay attention to all the little quirks of it you will get very nice edges.
It isn’t as refined or versatile as others but it can give you consistent and sharp edges.

Although small I like the Lansky diamond hones and I will still use them sometimes freehand when I have a recurve blade.
