Wearing a knife at Blade?

I got to tell ya I LOVED wearing my knives around all week and pulling them out to compare with any stranger standing next to you in the smoking area!

USA ROCKS!!!!!!

I wish I lived in a place when it was acceptable and almost required to open carry a nice BIG blade. I live in San Antonio, Texas, where a lockback is illegal to carry and there is absolutely no open carry of any kind. I carry my HK45 Compact since I have a CCW and now the Competition Jackhammer I got from 1whobuys. Its at the legal limit on blade length and mean as hell. I think I may carry one of my new Pork Shanks, but again, they all have to be concealed.

Thanks for all the answers and insight!!

At least your CCW applies to knives. In Ohio CCW does not apply to knives, it only applies to handguns. I know police officers that would arrest someone for carrying a 3" concealed fixed blade knife when they have a Concealed Handgun License.

Unfortunatley I am too embedded in my job not to mention mortgage to move. Realistically though...One of my grandpas lived in the Dakota's as a blacksmith, welder, carpenter and one lived in Ohio as a farmer. Both only used a fixed blade knife around the house or when deer hunting. They did anything they needed to on a daily basis with a folder. I must admit, my first BLADE I thought it odd that people were carrying there fixed blade knives all over the hotel and local restaurants. We have an annual steak dinner at my hunt club in June. Half of the people bring filet knives to cut their steak.

In Boy Scouts around my areas we were never allowed fixed blade knives either. In all the hiking camping etc. I did in my youth I never knew I was missing out. We didn't have Zombies back then though.

Sorry for the ramble. JERRY MAKE A FOLDER ALREADY!!!

I asked my son (5) what kind of knife he would carry when he was old enuff. He went and got my SY 711, and a mini key chain knife. Now that's my boy. The funny thing is if you asked my wife she will only use fixed blades. I'm taking here to blade next year to get here one if you can wait till then we know a custom knife guy around here that sell his knives at local craft fair she is always eyeing a $400 mammoth /Demascus 4 in. He made my EDC. wow what a family I have.

I should have worded that better. You can have up to a 5.5 inch blade concealed on you (no lockback knives in city limits), but it is separate from the CCW. The problem we have is that the police department doesn't even know the laws(or bends them to the will of our corrupted DA) and will happily take any knife and give you a nice weapons charge violation. If you are standing within 10 feet of a bottle of beer and have a set of car keys get ready for a DWI charge, its getting so pathetic.

My brother and I are trying to work out a deal with our work to let us move and operate remotely from Alaska. I have been there 4 times in the last two years including a winter trip, it's heaven for me. If work doesn't play ball, we will find something up there. We would both rather be poor in Alaska than rich in San Antonio. Once in Alaska, I can wear anything and everything. It's not the wild west, but it's way more lax than most states.

On the note of freedoms being pissed away, our current mayor is a joke and his "mommy" has been quoted as hating America and thinks Texas belongs to Mexico. I so need to leave...

Sarcastic answer: Yup, I wore em for fun and to show off.
As busted by KAAK.

Real answer: The more people use their right to be armed (and all of the other rights too) the less people will try to take that right away. After all what good is freedom or a right if you don't make use of it? There are those with mindsets out there who would say if you don't use a right then you no longer need it. I gladly make use of my freedom/right to protect my family as it is my (not someone else's) full time responsibility as a husband & father. I use & wear mine all the time where I live.

I also wore mine to have them handy when people had questions about how well INFI holds up with use, or how you can carry something so heavy all day. They are the very same blades you see in some of the pictures here on this forum and more than a few people recognized them and talked with me about them. I paid a lot of money for these quality blades that more than live up to the "hype" and I am proud to carry them as proof that they aren't just for collecting or looking at. I don't even clean off my user INFI anymore since it doesn't rust and anyone who held the users that I brought can attest to that. There is still some dodge sheetmetal fused to the FBM LE which has never once been sharpened and still has no dents or dings in the edge. These are the blades I wore at the show, or at least the ones you could see. ;)

One of a kind TTKZ
