Wearing the sheath

i also wear 1.5" gun belts because I always carry my g19 on me. the stock boot clip does not fit over it because of its thickness. i am a pretty scrawny guy and found that horizontal carry, even with the izula, wasn't very concealable with practical placement on my wasteline. the izula will fit comfortably in your pocket while sheathed, but i like having one handed access to a knife so i opt for belt carry even with such a small knife. i took everyone's advice here in the esee forum and picked up a couple blade-tech klips from knifecenter. this is the best carry method for my needs that i've found for my izula and 3mil so far, and it doesn't interfere with drawing of my firearm. just got an esee-5 in the mail today so i'll have to play around with that one now.

G19 and 3MIL. Long lost brother? :D

I did not know they made clips. I'll pick one or two up to see how they work...thanks for the advice. I just assumed they made tek-loks.

i didn't know either until someone from this forum recommended them to me. i much prefer the klips to the tek-loks because they go on and come off super easy, and still give great retention on the belt and don't slide around.

I carry my Izula in a horizontal sheath by MC Swinckels for edc around the farm.
It is easy to get hold of and replace.

Are you using a BladeTech Clip? Also, can you expand more on the sheath? I'm assuming that MC Swinckels is a forum member?

I have wanted to try my hand at kydex sheath making -along with knifemaking, leather sheath making, kydex-lined leather sheaths. I've got experience leatherworking so kydex should be easy. I'd support a guy making stuff in his spare time until I can make my kydex press and get the heat foam.....already have a heatgun for the custom molding. If he makes a good sheath that has a super tight grip I might pick one up because I"m sure the first few I make won't be super tight or well-made......probably have to make a few first to get it down tight.

I have gotten leather from Armorall to use when I belt carry my RC knives. This one is my wonderful little RC-3

OBSESSIS.... Not a Bladetech clip. The maker provided me with closed belt loop attachment. This means threading it through the belt every time. I would prefer a clip on attachment. The holes in the sheath can take a TEK-LOK.
The sheath can be adjusted to 45% or vertical, works well as a neck sheath and can be set up for left or right hand. He also provides all the necessary screws and bits for different setups. He is a member of these forums but resides in the Netherlands.
He does amazing work...look at http://martinsheaths.blogspot.com

His speciality is leather and kydex combined.

The sheath came so tight I could hardly get the knife out. Popped it in boiling water and loosened it with my hands...perfect now.

I know that guy. I've done some leatherworking in the past (still have a partially complete RC-3 sheath I need to finish) and have found his sheaths highly modern an inspirational, the kydex-lined leather ones. I might have to contact him and pick one up because I know he does GREAT work. Thanks!

I was at martins place a few months back for a Bravo-1 sheath. We came up with a clip version of the belt loop. It works pretty good. Only downside i find is that because of the extar room it has a somewhat large "off-set" from the body.
I will make some photo's tommorrow.

You need a haircut! :D
Yeah thanks! ;) But i need the long hair and goaty to look cool when i scare the neighbourhood kids with my machete.
Havent had a real haircut in about 2.5 years, only have some dead ends removed every 2 orso months

So, I've seen countless photos of the knives and sheaths, but not of how you guys carry them. I've seen some pics of then attached to bags, but how do you guys wear them on the waist/belt? Whats most comfortable?

I don't often wear a knife on my waist, but when I do, I prefer the Spyderco G-clip.

Kind Regards,
Marion

I just thread the belt through the molle backing on my 4, works pretty well. Recently I piggy backed my 4 to my lite, works pretty well.
