Web Special S35VN 112

I received Brass. The invoice says Brass, the Certificate of Authenticity says Nickel Silver.

My scales match, thank goodness. They appear to be real Macassar Ebony too, thank goodness.

The steel is obviously good and the full flat grind is interestingly thick.

I will keep it. It's nice and definitely worth the price.

in a weird way this batch of some nickel some brass, some dymondwood some solid makes it a great batch. dont know what ya get til ya get it. kinda exciting. all are gonna be worth something due to how random it is. kinda wish i had got in on this one. all are gonna be great in some way. even the mismatched scale ones.

i get as collectors wanting what one wants this can be disappointing, but as knives still great knives as users even with all the variations going on.

I did notice that the blade seems thicker...pretty snug/tight between bolsters, makes for a tight open/close.... The only f&f issue I've found is that the swedge is pretty uneven...although the scales are pretty even..

I was really looking forward to this knife, I even prefer brass over nickel. But alas, I'm moving to a new house next week, which will leave me without the required time, funds and valid shipping address for the next while.

Buck 112 grab bag.

WTF!!!!! My 112 arrived this morning.... IT IS NICKEL SILVER !!!!

Beautiful knife, a keeper for sure. Edge grind is a little bit wider than I normally see but very uniform both sides. I would swear the edges of the wood look layered, personally I think mine are Dymondwood and not solid Macassar Ebony. Craig sold an identical knife on eBay 4 days ago with N/S frame and the letter with it signed by Houser said it was Dymondwood. My COA is identical to the one DOGPOUND77 shows above except mine correctly says "nickel silver bolsters".I think when the dust settles, these knives are going to be a mixed lot. Regardless, all in all, I'm very pleased.

It might be my tired eyes, but those "lamination" lines do not appear to be straight, to me. Also, they are not on both scales, as far as I can tell. That would indicate wood grain and not lamination. What do you think?

Hello gentlemen, it's been quite some time since I've been on here. I figured this is the place to go to get the scuttlebutt on this 112. Interesting to say the least! Well, I received mine today and it's brass and macassar as the email stated. Just thought I'd report! Good night.

That 112 blade that Mak took a photo of is a first year date blade of 440C. And sharpened so much it's a recurve. So, Mak is kidding. DM
