My 500 and 426 came today, also. The 426 is stamped 2011, and came with the nylon sheath. The 500 date code is a tough one, for me. Perhaps one of you can decipher it? Both knives are very well made.

This particular 112 is a great example and I’ve offered to buy it in addition to the 50th they are sending me, we’ll see. They’re sending a prepaid return label for it but I would like to have both. This one is really nice!

The negative image shows a little metal in the bottom of the plus signifying a dot towards the bottom. 2021?

Yes, it looks like the dot is supposed to be on the bottom to me, too. Good idea with the negative image, thanks!

Dangit, I should have pulled the trigger on a 422 or a 500. I missed out on the 422 with my indecisiveness. I did order a sheath for my old 70s 102. Bought it late on Thursday night and it showed up today. Talk about fast shipping.

Thanks to Buck customer service, I received the correct 50th anniversary 112 just two days later. And it’s a fine example at that. The scuffs are from me carrying it today.

that 426 came with the American made nylon sheath. those are rare anymore and long gone. I got a handful of them from Mike back when he used to get closeout stuff from the Buck factory store.....

Yes, I noticed that it has a U.S.A. tag. Wasn't aware that they are rare, but I love seeing that label. Thanks for the info!

Well that was a bust! All of the packaging is correct with it being a 50th anniversary. Unfortunately, it's not. I'll have to return this, I was really hoping to get the 50th model with the handle medallion.

I am pleased to report a happy ending in this saga. After they sent the correct 50th anniversary 112, I was also able to purchase the 112 that was sent by mistake. I’m digging the 112 finger groove, I think I’ll order a custom shop elk in the future. Thanks Buck!

My web specials arrived! Here’s my new ebony S30V Open Season Small Game knife next to one of its 420HC older brothers. Time to get another new sheath made. I strongly dislike the factory sheaths. Do you know how fast a shirt or coat tail would catch the tag end of that snap strap and dump the knife onto the ground?

I enjoyed my evening tea out of my new mug, worked a Sudoku on the front porch, then made shavings from a piece of cedar. What a wonderful Friday evening.

Not pictured that also arrived today are a handful of orange and green 112 Slim Selects with my favorite original pocket clip style. I keep them on hand for Christmas gifts, thank you’s, whatever.

Oh, wait, it’s only Thursday. Well, off to work in the morning. LOL!
