There's a thread in the Buck sub-forum about a Buck 110 "Founder's Edition" from some place called "Web's Best Deals." I decided to give them a shot, and ordered the made-in-the-USA 110 w/ commemorative "Al Buck" made-in-China tin ( :) ) Sunday night. It arrived today (Wednesday) in the Midwest. Not bad. The knife came in a box larger than I expected, completely protected by foam "peanuts," and of course, the sealed plastic display packaging. The plastic packaging was only slightly scuffed, but in otherwise fine shape (one reviewer got one that was "scraped and tarnished). The tin is also in perfect shape. The knife itself appears to be a standard 110, but with Al Buck's signature tastefully etched on the blade...nothing garish.

So, I took a chance on an unknown (to me) vendor, and came away suitably impressed. Assuming my NGK order (placed at the same time) gets here tomorrow as projected, this Web's Best Deals beat NGK by one day (to be fair, NGK is about 400 miles farther away). Any company on par with NGK is doing something right.
