Yeeeeeeeeeeessssssss!!!!!
I finally know the meaning! I've always been curious, but never quite enough to ask. What a relief to know!

very cool. my handle is also taken from a nickname given it hs, which was my name with 'age' added. but I've altered it slightly.

r-savage sounds rad, maybe ill start calling myself that and referring to myself in the third person.

An "About Us" section would be kind of cool. People would be able to understand that you're a 3 person show and not a bunch of robots that mass produce chunks of metal without any error.
It seems like a few of the complainers in other threads had no idea that you're a small team of human beings that live regular lives and have problems like the rest of us.

I'll also add that I couldn't find anything related to HATS anywhere.

You mean like the About Us page down there next to the FAQ link? I'm beginning to see why I get all those emails ;)

The major points of change that I found relatively important were:

1. Blade finish was changed to increase corrosion resistance
2. Spine is sharpened and can be used on a firesteel.
3. Heat treat is optimized for edge retention and corrosion resistence on 3v blades.
4. Fasteners were change for a more uniform aesthetic.

I think these are correct but i'm not 100 percent sure.

1. Blade finish was changed because Guy wanted something non-reflective; bonus points for sharp (but not too sharp) corners. We would have had this finish sooner, but we didn't find anyone who could do it for us consistently. Thanks to the SURVIVE! Starter we bought the equipment ourselves and developed the methods in-house.
2. I believe I got this information added to each product page a couple weeks ago. If it is missing on one, please let me know.
3. We should be mentioning the heat treat. I will have to talk with Guy to figure out how much we are willing to share and how he would want it typed out.
4. Fasteners were changed because of complaints about the fastener channels being open for gunk and grim to get into, especially in food prep. The aesthetics were a happy bonus. It also had the added benefit of improving our efficiency in the workshop. I think it cut a quarter of the build time off.

awesome changes. i was finally able to order a sheath that i should've just ordered with my 5.1. now i can get a universal kydex extension 2 from chiralgolem.

impo, i don't think the "very" i necessary in the "very contoured" description. maybe "ergonomically contoured".

I was afraid of people being confused and thinking that the old spec handles were flat. They were still 3D handles with contouring, just not nearly as much as on the new spec knives.

Come on Ellie, you don't expect us to actually scroll all the way down do you?? There's no knife pictures down there!

This is spawning an idea for a link the says 'Click HERE for more knife pictures' and then clicking on it opens a bunch of new windows, including: the FAQ, About Us, and Production Schedule. I think this could work. We could do the same thing with the Contact Us link. Perfect!

Yeah, why not? If you are going to do something, you might as well do it right.

well if we are getting nit-picky... the only other thing I noticed is on the supplies page the text in the chart looks like it is "touching" the box...words aren't working will use photo:

I would just shift the text over a bit, if it allows it?

I spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to fix that yesterday. In my edit box it would add the "padding" but then when I saved and refreshed the front end it was still tight to the border. I exhausted my coding skills there. However, I need to change it all anyway. The table posts there as a picture so when you are viewing the page from a smaller window our website doesn't auto-size it. On the ipad, or even just by making the firefox window smaller, part of the table just gets cut off. I just finished UPS labels so I will be heading over there getting that fixed next.

Some of this is opinion

About Us
*craft style = craft-style
*utility oriented = utility-oriented
*high quality = high-quality (pretty sure on that one, but not 100%)
*highest quality tools available anywhere = I think you should have a ";" or a ":" between available" and "anywhere". Helps create a separation/pause. Probably a ":"...
*very finest materials = not sure you need "very"
*eliminating the middle men = I think it's typically said "man" (even though you may be indicating several parties). Also, I think there should be a "," after "man"
*you, the end user, = maybe "you (the end user)"

Home/Knives

Updated:
SURVIVE! is now offering two series of knives: the GSO series and the SK series. The GSO series knives are built according to your order specifications using some of the finest materials available. The SK series is a super-tough, no-nonsense offering for the more value-oriented user.

I figured that was the case. I have dabbled in web design (never got anywhere) and this sorta thing used to drive me nutts! You are a better person than I for taking it on!

I see your plan, trying to get us to actually read and comprehend real information. As Standard has demonstrated, this is impossible while sidetracked by hats.

Exactly. If the brains of our operation couldn't make it to the bottom of the page, I don't stand a chance! :D
