Week Long 22 Rimfie Water Immersion Test

12 day immersion- kind of been busy with building, so I forgot about the 22 in the cups.

5 out of 5 CCI shotshells fired. Stored in 2007
0 out of 50 American Eagle(by Federal) fired stored in 2007
42 out of 50 Peters (by Remington) fired stored in 2005

Hey, Bladeforums,

7 days submersion....

Had 21 duds out of 50 for Remington Thunderbolts
Had 19 duds out of 50 Peters solids

Had server4al hang fires firing the above and was VERY careful.

Then I proceded with two TI 25 mags (50 rounds total) that had been filled with CCI Blazer that was also submerged for 1 week. NO DUDS Ran like a sewing machine.

The proof is in the puddin.

Also, 22 is a such a common prolific round I almost consider it another part of your "metal portfolio". Most people who own guns own a 22... Also, to create reputation and demand for the ammo that is best suited and for being reliable even if it's 15 years old or so. Even if the supply is still there from comercial sources. Possible hedge agaisnt inflation.

Follow up on Aguilla Super colibri. Very interesting. 5 needed two strikes, the rest went off on the first shot. 2 out of 50 wouldn't fire at all. Some of the rounds seemed to be exiting at closer to 200 fps then 500 fps, it wasn't very consistent. On top of that, a weird reaction occured (must be the water combining with the primer propellent) that put a yellow stain down my barrel and on my hands.

On it's own, if you think you might go swimming with stock super colibri, I couldn't highly recommend it for consistent POI for small target applications, but most of it did eventually fire.

Follow up on Aguilla Super Maximum.

Lot's of squibs (DANGEROUS: BULLET STUCK IN THE BARREL ) Lots of bullets exited a couple feet from barrel. A couple shot to the 1700 fps and knocked shotgun shells out at the 50 yard line. Other's made it 15 yards. It was very unreliable, and have 8 that wouldn't fire at all ( out of 50).

High humidity, or if you take a dip, I wouldn't trust stock super maximum for anything.

don't even think about doing the dunk test on remington GB's...loosest rimfire bullets on the market...
