Weekend backpack trip, what an adventure...

Looks like a great trip despite the weather. You four certainly proved you are up for spending some time in the woods no matter what.

While we're kind of on the topics of ticks, I was always told to put some really strong mozzie rep on them and they kind of withdraw their teeth and fall off. Is this a lie and only tweezers work?

Those are some amazing shots. Hey next time you do that, can you post them in the larger size. I like to sit back and enjoy these!

When you find a banana slug that is longer than your knife, we that is God's way of telling you that it is time to get a new and longer knife :D

Not sure what mozzie rep is, but my wife has used kerosene with excelent results back in Ohio. We did try the blown out match, that didn't work, neither did the smothering in chapstick.

Sorry, I like bigger pics too, but was worried about them not fitting on some peoples screens, I'll try the large pics next time. Until then, you can see them, and even watch them as a slide show here if you like: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nlarsen4540/sets/72157615693277667/

Oh yes... "Honey, God is trying to tell me I need to buy a new knife...":p

"Not sure what mozzie rep is"

Think DEET.

Physical means are to be preferred over the application of noxious agents. I dug up some research in this and posted it here once.

so last but not least I forgot my foot print for the two man tent I never use.. needless to say it started to leak a bit where the water was pooling up on the ground. I did have an e blanket in my psk so we slept ontop of that. we stayed nice and dry.

Good stuff Boomer, looked like a cozy camp!

Ugh...Ticks...nasty. Never got one on me yet, and don't look forward to the day when one manages to latch on. :thumbdn:

Man. I'm jealous. I'd love to have gone. Loved the shots of the arched tree there too. Neato.

Hell yeah Nick.... Pvt Murphy was in full force for you guys. :D:thumbup:

Dude, it looks like a great hike regardless of weather. Hmm...Maybe I need to score me some of them tick tweezers. They work good? Boomer had to go and show off by catchin a tick to the jugular. :p

Glad you guys managed. Look forward to seein you guys soon...
