What's up fellas? I just got home not to long ago from my weekend trip. If you followed my other thread about going camping with a "drinking" buddy insttead of a "camping" buddy you'll appreciate this thread.

Overall I had a great time. The main things that bothered me, which I knew going into this thing, was the amount of drinking that went on (not by me). My major gripe is that damn cell phone. Who the hell goes camping to talk on the cell phone for a ridiculous amount of time?

Anyway, it was still nice to get out in the woods and try out a bunch of things that I read about on this forum. You guys are a great source of information. It was 95 degrees and humid so I spent as much time out in the water on my kayak as I could.

This was my first time ever camping in a one man tent. I borrowed from a different friend and I must say that I don't know why I don't own one of these things yet. I can't believe actually carry a 4 man tent to sleep one person. That little one man tent is super light and was super easy to set up. No rain in the forecast so I didn't even have to set up the fly.

I'll stop yapping and show pics now :)

Here's the tent I used

First night's dinner consisted of black beans, rice, pork chops cut up and thrown in, red and green bell pepper, and baby bellas. It was awesome.

Choppin' and splittin' some wood

I chopped a bit out of the larger log to give me a place to lay smaller pieces and hack on.

and then split it

Excellent pictures myright! Wow, beautiful area. Nice to see a few blades getting used for camp chores. Thanks for sharing...did you catch anything?

cool pics... those turtles look huge...

Yeah, it was crazy seeing that many turtles together that large. The little ones would swim right up to the kayak and the big ones got out of dodge when I got too close.

I will have to be honest and say NO

I got bit a few times, but couldn't get anything to take the bait enough to set the hook.

My buddy got two short large mouth. It was pretty darn hot though so I wasn't expecting to catch all that much. It was nice being out on the water either way though.

Great Photos,...

How were the insects???

I saw mosquito all weekend and no ticks whatsoever. The flies were all over, but they were regular ole non-biting flies so it wasn't a big deal. I'm not sure if it was because it was too hot or what, but it was nice not having to load yourself with bugspray all the time.

that pic with the bird taking off is awsome. next time someone does a give-away for best picture, youll have a winner.

I see fishing rods, a sign of time well spent...

Looks like a fun time!

The size of those turtles makes me think snappers?

Stingray - They weren't snappers, which surprised me because every turtle I've seen around me that big has been a snapper. I'm not really sure what kind of turtle they really are, but they were cool, and big.

Nice Pics  Looks like a good time ! I like the Bk !

Me too :)

That's a great knife for the camp site.

Great pics! I love the area you were in, where was that? Glad you had a good time. I'll go w/ ya next time if you take me to that spot! I don't got a kayak, but I'll get one. Did you spot any fish at all?
