Weekend camping trip pics

sweet pics, thanks for sharing.

also lovin that pic of the bird taking off...

i have a little two man tent that i almost never use, since its kinda big and heavy...but maybe i should look into getting a one man tent. did you think it was too small? they always overrate tents in my experience, so a 5 man is really a 3 man...does that make the 1 man a 1/2 man?;)

looks like a nice trip, good to hear you enjoyed yourself in the face of adversity...and i hear ya on the cell phone. the worst is when you are walking down a trail and you hear someone yapping from 100 metres out because they have to shout for the other person to hear them...

I thought the one picture was two WWII helmets on a log!!

I have nightmares of a turtle chomping off my big toe when I am swimming
You will never see me swimming in any body of water with potentially big turtles
Or tortoises
Which ever ones can chomp off your toe in one bite...

Is it legal to catch turtle there?
Do you need a license?
How does one catch a turtle?

Is that FL or LA? It looks like my neck of the woods...

You guys will all call me a liar when I tell you where it is.

That is a pond in Southern DE... It's the first time I had been to it and I could not believe that I was actually still in DE.
Great pics, MyRight! Nice to be near the water in a heat wave eh?

The water felt like bath water it was so warm, but it was still nice to splash it on yourself to get cool. The kayak was a sit-on-top kayak so there are holes in the bottom to stablize it and a bit of water comes through which makes a little cooler also.

It was still pretty darn hot though.

Thanks, bro.

There is plenty of room for one person in that tent. It's a lot wider inside then it looks outside. I had my Camelbak and my Kelty in there with me and was fine. I'm 5'11" and I pretty much filled the length of it. There is also a rain fly on it that allows for a vestebule (sp?) out front to put your shoes, gear, etc. without having to drag it all in the tent.

That's a wild nightmare. I guess I know what to get you for your next birthday.

You can hunt for snapping turtles here June through May with no daily limit and are not permitted to hunt for any other type of turtle. I could not find any restrictions specifically about catching a turtle as a pet but I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's not ok.

I'm going to do a bit of research and see what type of turtles they were.

Great pics man. Im glad you salveged a good time. That food looks awesome!

He what kind of camelback is that, your thoughts??

My tent and my camping chair looks just like yours. It looks like you had a great fun with your drinking buddy there, how did you guys get by with no ice? It sucks to drink booze with no ice...

It's a GI MULE with a MOLLE system on the lower pocket. I had it issued to me right before I got out. It's the best Camelback I've owned to date. I really don't use it with the bladder all that much, but my SIG, a 20 oz plastic bottle of water and bug spray fit in there with room to spare. It's perfect for a short hike where you won't need to stop for more than a snack.

Oh, and it's rock solid tough. I've abused the thing and it just smiles, laughs and asks for more. :D

What I didn't take a picture of was the two coolers with water, food and beer.

My buddy ran out at one point to buy more.
