Weekend deals for 10/14 --Pix, Cherokee Rose, Ram Lal Tin Chirra and great buys

Already EMS east meets west special! Done Deal. Maybe next time Cul! It took me by supprise & I did not hesitate

Thank you, I thought I was going to have to "bite the bullet" for this one. You saved me a skinning for sure. I'll just wait until the holidays get a little closer, the missus kinda let's me do what I want for a month or so.

It's very close to the Greek Kopis. I mean, I consider it an HI made small Kopis. I really want one, and I'd also like a larger one too, 26 to 32 inches overall, but similar weight.

As for the MMCR, I really want one. Thankfully, it looks possible that in the next few weeks my cash flow may increase, so I may pick one up. I'm also considering a Glock 19 or a SIG SP2022. So many temptations.

I will say, the only issue I have with my falcata is it is HEAVY;) I've got decent arm strength, but man...it's a 3lb beast.

A lighter EMW of falcata length would be fearsome.

I'm already spinning my mental gears on how to get a MMCR sooner than later. I'm hoping that the fiscal year was good enough that I can treat myself to a little something next month;)

As for the Glock 19 and 2022, both great guns. I recently traded into a brand new 19. I popped in an 8lb NY1 trigger because I prefer a stiffer revolver like feel. Glock's 5.5 always felt...wrong. I like either more resistance or a glass-like break like a 1911. I went heavier for a carry gun without a manual safety. When I pack more than a 5-6 shot revolver, the 19 rides along. But I usually gravitate toward a snub nose.

Anyway, I would jump on the MMCR when you can
These kinds of knives only pop up when they pop up. You can throw a rock and hit a Glock or SIG:D

I'm scheming about a G19 too! Great minds think alike.
11/12" MMCR, um yeah, want that.

Not much of a Glock guy, shot 1911's for way to long B4 they arrived on the scene. Had a 21 and it was great, it just departed to far from what had become second nature. Like SG, usually a snubbie and a 649 at that. More serious a 66, really serious a 1911 of some sorts.

MAN I wish I had a bigger piggy bank...or at least one with something in it. I still need a YCS and a CR... and the last few days there have been some serious beauties in both those areas.

Agree with BB about just too different a grip angle for me. Now I am not saying there is anything wrong with Glocks so no flame wars from the fan boys ;) In fact teaching someone who hasn't spend decades with a 1911, Glock is actually far easier for them to pick up and hit a target with. But if you are used to the angle of a 1911 they just feel wrong. And I am too old to adjust everything I have been doing for decades when there are still lots of great guns that make use of that standard.

We must have been separated at birth.

I -do- want a 1911. Been looking at the pony guns... Can't get one for 489+tax sadly.
A Colt 1991 isn't too awful expensive. They sure shoot great. Like a dream. Way better egonomics than the Blocks of which I am a fan. CZ 75/SP101 Shadow high up on my list of 'want real bad' too.
I'll buy a Wilson Combat someday. Most comfortable and scary accurate thing I've ever seen.

Me gots long ago a Wilson Combat Master Grade on a Colt Series 70, before they made their own frames and slides. It is set up with two barrels, one comped, one not. If I told you how it shot, you wouldn't believe me. Better than any Gold Cup or National Match I own and on par with either of my Clark long heavy slide bullseye guns.

We must have been triplets. I just parted with a G21 too. It worked good, I got it mostly since that's what the officer carry and I wanted to stay up on them. Now I got one assigned for the purpose so off it went. It was a night stand gun with a X300 light on it.
Nice thing about Glocks is they have no personality. I can get another and will never know the difference.

I'm a 1911 guy too. Hardly ever without one. Have a little Kahr PM45 on my ankle all the time. Too much time in the Boy Scouts, I'm prepared.

I've always said I like your style!

My favorite kind of gun is...all of em:D
Glocks, 1911s, revolvers, etc.

Like Mr B said, Glocks have no character or personality of any kind. Not exactly a family heirloom, but out of the box they just seem to work...and I don't mind if they get scuffed or beat up.

That said, I'm kind of a carry sissy:o I like small, and I like light. My wife and I are going out this evening for our 11th anniversary. No Glock, no SP101, not even my coveted 9mm lcr. Just a .380 Beretta Pico in my pocket.

Maybe I need to talk the wife into letting me getting one of these Micro Roses so that I have a more capable back up for my pea-shooter:D

There is always a way;)

I would believe you. Tell me more.
I was working as a range officer and got to shoot just about everything.. A guy came in with a Wilson Combat (Tactical Maybe?) and let me shoot a mag. I graciously accepted. I swear it had a chip in it that reads your mind - I just thought about where I wanted the rounds to go, not even so much really aiming. Just one big ragged fist sized hole in the center of the target.. and the guy probably shot 5 boxes. Still leaves a crazy impression on me.

Well you pretty much nailed it and most will think we're both full of scheiss. However, it does darn near shoot itself and darn well at that. I ran it through a few bullseye matches and it did amazingly well. I let a few of the other team members run it through practice rounds and all were impressed. Remember, these are hard core shootists. I have a couple other sleepers non 1911. One is the S&W 52 Wadcutter, fairly common but amazingly accurate. Then I have two 50's vintage Sig 210's, a 9x19 and a 9x23, both are pristine. Probably the finest machine work, fit and finish of any production 9mm's ever. They shoot like target guns although not intended to be. When I was an FFL holder a young guy brought in a 1917 vintage WWI issue Colt 1911, honestly looked unissued. He wanted to trade straight up for a Berretta 92FS, I advised it wasn't a fair trade for him. He said he didn't care he had nothing in it since his grandfather left it to him. I only bring this up to debunk the myth military issue 1911's can't hit the broad side of a barn. Perhaps worn out ones other than that I call BS. Even with the tiny issue sights you can roll soda cans at 25 yards all day long with hard ball. Yes, I kept that one fo myself.

Thanks for the update. Wasn't aware of the SW 52 - neat piece of history. The Sig 210 is now on my radar. I want a Sig as it is. I really like 9x19

As for a 1917 Colt 1911 - or any vintage 1911.. I'd do unspeakable things for one.
My G-pa's disappeared after his death, probably got 'cousin-ed' or sold...
Maybe someone traded it for a Beretta (*Grimace*)
The Wilson Combat Brigadier 92G? looks really nice...
It's hard to resist with that memory stuck in my head. Was honestly thinking about a new production Colt 1911 in 9mm - but it'd be hard not to get it in .45 like God and John Moses Browning Intended. Or I could just get a Hi-Power...?

I don't have anything chambered in .45SoulKiller yet, what would your first choice be?

There's more options now days for a 1911 than ever before. Seems everybody that ever made a gun now makes a 1911.

My # 1 is a Dan Wesson Cbob. Used to be able to buy one for less than 800, then I guess they realized how good they really were and suddenly they are 1500 or more but a great gun. Even better after CZ took over.
I'm very fond of my Desert Eagle 1911G, probably most accurate 1911 I have and around the 800 to 900 mark. Great value, great gun.I also have th 1911C the commander size and every bit as good and I wear it often.

The Ruger 1911 is tough to beat too, I like mine very much.

For a GI look I got a Remington R1, not the enhanced. Looks GI except it has slightly better sights. I bobtailed the grip on mine and put a wide spur hammer on it. Yup, like that one too.

Tons of choices with a full range of prices from a new car to less than half a months house payment.

Bawanna has all the bases covered. I'd probably buy a Colt only because I'm a purist. However, I think there are better less expensive options that B'Man already mentioned ie; Remington and Ruger.

Not quite, I still need an AR before the election and it's not looking good. Also a Wilson of course and that not even showing up on the map.

As some here know my favorite CCW is a Ruger SR1911 Commander length. Since I married into a vintage 1911 (hubbie's Grandpa's WWII carry) I can verify all the folks who call BS on GI Issue not being accurate it they aren't shot out. His is well maintained but carried for the entire war and is still plenty accurate. I also have a Detective length Hi-Power made by FN in Argentina before they gave the manufacturing plant to the Argentinians. I highly recommend these variations of John Brown's brilliance if you can find one. The best current version of the Hi-Power detective is the CZ 75Compact a great shooter that will last for generations if cared for. I LOVE the finish they use on their guns and it is as reliable and sweet shooting as anything I have ever carried. Then a Colt Python in 4" rounds out the stable of "Classics". I think the description of Glocks as having zero personality is probably the best description I have heard. They are tools and that is all, and I don't find that a bad thing. If I got attached to EVERY gun I owned I would never be able to sell one LOL. Of Course I feel that way about Taurus, Sig, Newer S&W (not the classic wheelies) ect too. Good tools that I can use up and replace as necessary without feeling the remorse I would feel if my HP or Grandpa's 1911 were locked in an evidence locker because I used it to defend myself.

I never met an "N" Frame S&W I didn't love. The Model 28 is the red headed step child of the bunch. I bought them when ever I could. I've got a few NIB and my vacation travel gun is a 6" five screw. Never paid more than $200, most near $125. They were a bargain at twice the price, nobody wanted them and prefered the smaller "K" Frame Model 19. The Model 27 is another to a lesser degree. The Cadillac of "N" Frames with their checkered top straps. I especially like the 3-1/2" and 5" versions as they're odd balls like me.
