Weekend deals for 10/14 --Pix, Cherokee Rose, Ram Lal Tin Chirra and great buys

So I already have a 1911, I just think it's too big and weighty for normal carry for me. I also have a SIG P225. I've just been pondering the Glock 19 for size and weight reasons lately. I actually did the numbers, and it would be lighter to carry one loaded with a full fifteen round magazine than my SIG is with eight rounds. So I've made no decisions, but I am considering it. The grip angle also works for me, but so do the SIG and 1911 grip angles. So it's something I'm pondering. But the MMCR, no need pondering if I want one of those. Or an EMW for that matter.

Each and every one is a great choice. If I'm concerned with weight I'll grab a LW Commander in 45acp or 38 Super. All the rigs I own will accommodate any 1911 style including my Para Ordnance P14. However, the P14 is rarely used as such since it's such a hoss.

My P14 (mines the LDA) lives in my night stand cabinet. Carried it for years.

Officers at work bought it for me when I had a little bump took out of my brain, thought it would help me feel better it did then and it still does today.

Mine is older, pre LDA. I had the finish striped and two toned. Added matching serrations to the front of the slide, had a Bomar sunk in the rear, added a metal mag release, long aluminum trigger and a trigger job. Kind of a prototype LDA, at least what I thought a P14 should look like at the time.

I love how deep the knowledge ocean is. I have a lot more learning to do! Thanks guys for a great conversation.
I've got to look at the older Para's, I've heard great things. Love the recommendation for the CZ/DW 1911's - I know they fixed the tight tolerance/stainless galling issues and I've heard they are top quality.
Ruger's putting out great stuff these days... and Remington (crickets...) :)
Maybe a Gold Cup or National Match, Blued Finish, with Stag or Ivory grips....

those roses are exquisite! I'm jumping in on the convo, p14; endsfield? british rife? my spelling may be off. i like the old style weapons. God knows ill buy a blunderbuss any day, and others of the same era or ones near so. I've got a lot to learn as far as muzzle loader, flint lock et cetera go. ill be adding to my collection some day. will need hunting rifle for soon. hoping to get a 22 mag from a family member sometime, don't think hell go for it. just have a standard remington 22 bolt action. 1911 and a colt mustang. that mustang is something else, nicest gun i own. almost got a whalter ppk like a james bond, can't say theres a huge difference or anything at all because i haven't fired much else. as for recommendations, my AO1911 is classic! Kahr arms is what i go for. its cheap with cheap ammo to go with it. decent shooting too.

I've heard sad but didn't know they were defunct. Are they shut down now?
Heard customer service wasn't the best, I know the finish on some of the colored guns was lousy.

Para-Ordnance is now Para USA. I hear the quality has diminished along with the customer service. Just what I've read, I have no personal experience with the claims.

The Para USA website is still up and running. I have 3 Para's, never had to send anything back or deal with them.
Officer had one of the green LDA's, finish was horrible and didn't last long.
For awhile you couldn't get a stainless model, not sure if that's still the case or not. I heard a rumor that they quit on the LDA's but still see it on the website??????

Only they know for sure I guess.
