Weight??

Well believe it or not we have been kinda busy:p:p

Anyhoo....Combat Grade Bushwacker Mistress with the G-10 handles is about 23 ounces....we did not have time to weigh the beast with canvas micarta handles....but it will a tad lighter(I am saying a tad people)...and do not hold me to this...:eek::eek:

The Limited Edition will be around 26(ish) ounces :)

Hope that helps:thumbup:

BTW....The Janitor helped me with this:confused::confused: he is usually drunk so:rolleyes: :p

22 or 23 oz is fine if the balance is right. My M9CG is right around 21 oz or so, and it is lively in the hand.

Thanks, Amy.

In my opinion, the weight makes the CG variety even more attractive. The LE seems a bit heavy. The CG is also pretty heavy so it will still have that Busse "Feel". Maybe it will be better to go for Micarta. Looks like the CG will be a real winner - STRIP HER!

For those that are curious, some other blade weights I've collected from posts gone by...

CGFBM with micarta mags - 27.6 oz
HHFSH with micarta mags - 23.5oz
FSH (original with convex grind) with micarta mags - 22.7 oz
NMSFNO CG with micarta mags - 20.9 oz
SFNO LE with micarta mags - 17.7 oz

Thanks, Foo. Here are a few more:

Basic 7 - 12 oz.
Basic 9 - 16 oz.
Ontario 12" machete - 16 oz
Skinny ASH1 - 15-15.5 oz
ASH1 LE - 15-15.5 oz

On the BW weight...what did the CGFBM weight? If your convex adding weight theory holds true on these, with the fact the CGFBM had the CBT that lessened weight, the thinner BW could weight more than the CGFBM.

Will be interesting to see the weight comparrison.

CGFBM is about 27 Ounces.

So, the Mistresses (by approximate weight, descending):

* 32.0 oz - CG NMFBM
* 31.0 oz - FFBM
* 31.0 oz - FBM LE
* 27.6 oz - CG FBM with Micarta mags
* 26.0 oz - SHBM .270"
* 26.0 oz - BWM LE
* 23.0 oz - CG BWM with G-10
* 22.0 oz - CG BWM with Canvas Micarta
* 22.0 oz - SHBM .250" with 10 3/16" blade
* 21.0 oz - BM-E
* 19.0 oz - SHBM Coated

Still missing:

* NMFBM 1/13
* ZTBM
* ??

I have a satin SHBM, .25" thick, with 10 3/16" blade length that comes in at 22 oz. on my 2 lb postal scales--just weighed it. Given Amy's specs, dead on what the Bushwhacker weight should be with micarta slabs. (Makes sense that my satin SHBM would be slightly heavier if the SHBM mentioned above was coated and .25" @ 19 oz.)

BWM might be a tad more blade heavy than the SHBM because of the thinner tang. but the handle length on the SHBM is shorter @ 5 1/8" from butt to front of slab against 6" for the BWM, meaning balance may be pretty close to identical.

So the BWM, offering a thinner, wider, full-convex blade and thicker, more contoured grips (plus a less severe "pinky angle" at the rear talon) may feel much like a satin .25" SHBM with mags and modified fushion grips.

This COULD be major. :eek: :eek: :eek:

Food for thought, Will. Makes me even less patient now.:D

NMFBM???

No one has this weight?? I find this hard to believe....

Here's a quote from Jerry from when the NMFBM came out, indicating its weight at about one ounce heavier than an FFBM:

With its forward blade balance and weighing only 1 ounce heavier than an FFBM, this monster is all about choppin'. . . . :eek:. . . :eek: . . . :eek:. . . . :eek: The impact of this blade literally shakes the very earth beneath it upon impact. :eek: . . . . :thumbup:

So FFBM 31+ oz; NMFBM 32+

You the man, Will

thats a huge difference in weight for an inch less

interesting thoughts Will.

mind showing some photos of this SHBM of yours, some in hand too?
