theres a thread like this on the survivalist forum and its very interesting,
so whats the weirdest things you have founds while camping/hiking/hunting or even riding
for me, i have found very old plowing equipment, and old broad-head arrows with aluminum shafts. i have found refrigerators a washing machine, car batteries, and some kind of machine motor. pics please if you have any!

My favorite is finding old train tracks. I've found most of the items you've mentioned but I don't recall finding any arrows yet.

One time when I was around 12yrs old we found a dead goat in the middle of the woods. It was the middle of the winter and it was frozen solid. Being twisted like many little boys are we started poking it with a stick. To our horror it growled at us. This freaked us out quite a bit because the goat was obviously dead. When we decided to stop running and got our courage up to return to it (with thoughts of the goat having been used in some sort of pagan ritual) we started poking at it again. To make a long story short a possum had chewed a hole in the underside of it and was actually inside the body cavity. Pretty gross but we were relieved it wasn't the beginning of some kind of zombie goat apocalypse.

When I was 10 I found a dilapidated tree house and in it was a metal box full of Playboy magazines. I distinctly remember the Patty McGuire issue...

I found a ring of keys about 4 years ago. Maybe 30 plain ol' copper colored keys, and I still can't figure out where the hell they came from.
Otherwise all I see is vintage...trash.

Lots of graves, distilleries, traps, hippies, drug paraphernalia, metal parts from an airplane, a buried car with a wallet and pocket knife in it...

That's all I can think of right now.

empty wallet :grumpy: ?

i also remember finding an american flag tied between two trees, it was creepy because it was in the middle of nowhere

I've found used and unused smoke grenades, a stainless steel Parker pen, an L1A1 magazine, unused thunderflashes, remains of a mortar, and an HE grenade which I think was fired from the barrel of an L1A1.

Yep, the army trained in that particular forest and cool finds when your 11 years old.

When I was about twelve, my friend and I found the neatly severed head of a Hereford cow sitting perfectly upright on the ground. No blood, no other cow parts, no tracks or marks around it. We thought it was hilarious at the time, but after thinking about it a bit, it really creeped me out.

I've found hobo campsites in the watershed/green belt behind my house.

Strangest thing I ever found was a concrete road barrier in a rather remote part of the woods. It would have taken a car to move that thing, and I'm not entirely sure how a car could have gotten into and out of that area.

I was bush-bashing down off Williams Saddle in Arthur's Pass. Very closed in, lots of stuff underfoot, leaves and bark in the face, up to the knees in litter, big cobwebs.

I leant against a tree to rest (not enough room to sit down) and thought "wow, this is cool bush, I bet I'm the first person to ever lean on this tree.". At that point I looked down and found a discarded water bottle at my feet. So much for "first person to lean on that tree".

Hello,

I was on an overnight backpacking trip down Sespe Creek in Ojai CA two summers ago. Before we got on the trail we had to stop at the ranger station to get a fire permit. The ranger said a horse broke its leg on the trail a few days ago and they had to put it down. We hiked about 5 miles to our camp site and set up camp. I did some fishing till it got dark and went to bed. The next morning I got up and went to gather wood for coffee and eggs... No less then 20 yards away from our site was a half eaten horse and a ton of mountain lion and coyote tracks. The ranger never mentioned that they put the horse down on the trail and just left it. Not sure what the hell I would have done if a lion was at the door of my tent looking for a place to sleep.

Have a good one,

Chris

wow creepy and interesting stuff guys! iv heard of people walk across people who have committed suicide, then reported it ofcourse.

my wife, and one time these rubber tubes with a plasma like fliud in them that i'm sure had something to do with aliens and cattle!!!

Empty booze bottles in places where one would not stop to rest like in remote deep forested or swampy areas. My guess is that these are tossed out of bush planes

Found a large trashcan, like what you pull down to the road, in the middle of fairly thick woods. There are no paths or roads anywhere close enough to bring that thing in there. The lid was missing, and there were lots of teeth marks(non-human, hah) on it.

In a different area of those same woods, I found an orange cat paw, somewhat preserved even. It looked like one of those rabbits foot keychains that were in quarter machines.
