Don't know if it's Cell or Acrylic? How to tell?

Confirmed on celluloid for this one Will and I read on one website that only 20 knives were made for each variation of celluloid handle... :)

Thanks very much Kevin, I have another one somewhere in another shade, have to track it down.

Regards, Will

I think it’s about time that we have a new thread dedicated to Bulldog Brand Knives. Please, if ya got ‘em, post ‘em! View attachment 971670View attachment 971669
How about some info on the brand as well. Im in need of some learnin'.
I see lots of Bulldogs of German manufacture, some of Queen manufacture and some of GEC manufacture. Some of the most prime handle materials ive seen installed by GEC or Queen were placed on these SFOs.

Who is behind this beautiful brand?

Will ( Will Power Will Power ), I've collected vintage fountain pens for years, many of which were constructed of celluloid. The easiest way to determine if it's celluloid is to warm it up a bit. Just rub the handle vigorously on your pant leg until it gets warm then smell it. Celluloid emits a very distinct camphor odor when warmed up.

Josh, they do have quite a colorful history. There are members here that I’m sure have forgotten more about them than I’ll ever know, so hopefully one of them will stop by and enlighten both of us. -Lance

Lance, we talked a bit when you ordered/traded? for your Bulldog, it is you that inspired me to go looking for the tobacco series of Bulldog's I once owned (mostly Sowbelly's) and I came across this wonderful green bone Tobacco Barlow. I LOVE IT:thumbsup:
