Welcome to the BECKER KNIFE & TOOL forum. BK&T has a 20+ year history of providing edged tools to every variety of Outdoorsman-Soldier, Hunter, Bushcrafter, Wilderness Survival Practioner, and other Operators of many descriptions.....I hope this forum becomes a pleasant place for you to drop by and chat about any questions you may have about my knives, your BK&T knives and my plans for future knives.....
I am lucky enough to live in the middle of an almost perfect testing ground...90 acres of wooded mountain...... Our ridge is mixed hardwood, poplar, oak, pine and hickory, and our few acres of lowland has American cane, willow, cattails, and river birch in profusion....I have been doing some extensive field testing in the last couple of months and soon...In days not weeks I will be posting some pics of recent testing and some of the new blades in their native habitat....
Almost every blade we have produced over the last two decades has been a blade I really wanted to own or a blade that a trusted collaborator really wanted for himself.....
I firmly believe that the best designer of equipment is a person who has intimate knowledge of the product through USING that product or very similar ones regularly......One of the reasons my big choppers have the balance they do is that my other job requires the constant use of knives and you quickly learn how important balance is... The competitors I tend to most admire are almost all USERS of knives, and you can almost always tell just as soon as a user designed the knife comes to your hand.....
By the way....I want to know what I am doing that you like and I also want to know what your gripes are......I will listen to all gripes, but I must tell you that I take direction only moderately well...Please feel free to post pictures of BECKERs in use. I LIKE to see my babies used, and because I got started making knives by modifying existing ones that "weren't quite right" I am always interested in mods, so please share those too......
Sooooo....Welcome, put your feet up, loosen your belt, grab a cup of coffee and let's talk knives.......
All Best....
