Well, I'm new to you all, but liked the subject and thought I'd check in. Just got back from my neighbor's house, where I've been removing the textured paint from their garage ceiling .... Longtime buddy, 10+ years, and he's getting back from military deployment in 9 days (sixth one in ten years). His wife wanted to surprise him by repainting the garage when I suggested redoing the ceiling first. She agreed to supply the beer if I and another neighbor would make it happen.

We started seven hours ago, and I'm proud to say that we removed all the old popcorn ceiling and applied joint compound to all the rough patches. Snapped a few fun photos of the trainwreck we created (work in progress), cleaned up, and called it a night. Gotta get ready for the morning when we wrap it all up and finish the job, but right now I'm glad we negotiated the terms of payment in advance, because we went through a few beers. Times like this make me proud to be a vet.

Hope y'all have a good night, and a better tomorrow.
