well, I got internet, buuuttt.......

Too bad about the dial up Fonly, I know that it takes patience. We were on dial while living at the N.W.T. border. I think that it took me 45 minutes to u/l a bunch of pics via email. Beautifull country out there in Novee Scoshee, looks like the real deal. I can easily see grouse in that environment. Speaking of which, I will not be hunting them this fall, maybe next. I'm focusing on stripping down and rebuilding my motorcycle engine. I appreciate your pics and commentaries on knives as I get a better understanding of a particular knives qualities/defects this way. I found it interesting that you are hacking up trees with your Ka-Bars. That tells me what I want to know about those knives. I think that you will find the 110 to be ideal for poking a small cut into the anal cavity area of a grouse. Crack the wing bones near the chest then grab the wings/legs and pull up with your thumb. The anus area cut allows your thumb access to the gut cavity, then you just pull in opposite directions. One hand will have a big chunk of breast meat, the other a pile o' crap. Unless you want the bit of meat on the legs. Keep the pics coming buddy, if you can tolerate it.

Yeah, I have my girlfriends side of the famiy is from NFLD, ever heard of leadingtickles?, I guess its north of Grandfalls. Beautiful country up there.

Over the next couple weeks Ill be testing how the coating hold up. If it takes a beating, and alot comes off, I may just remove it all. If not, it might add some personality to it. I can drasticly change the look of a knife, I remeber Pitdogs ka-bar he polished up, some sharp looking (pun intended:D)

Hmmm Leadingtickles? Thats a new one for me but i do know some folks from out around the Grandfalls area, not a Layte is she?.
Yeah there are lots of creative place names in Newfoundland!
:)

shhhh.....don't tell anyone you like a Ka-Bar they will get all worked up about "thin tangs and stacked leather handles...blood grooves." I have the "navy" version USMC, a real workhorse, feels great in the hand, yet comfortable on the belt. I have full tangs too, (BK-7) but I love the feeling of the 7" ka-bar, a very well-rounded knife. Good for a lot of camp chores.

Looks like a beautiful place...enjoy! Better suroundings make the internet speed marginal anyways...

Well, its posts like this that keep me doing it. I've a bit of small game hunting but its mostly been quic trips back in the woods. The 110, 192, Nimravus and Revolver H are the best belt knives I've used in a while. The nimravus I've found bites into my thumb a little, where the others are very comfy. But it is the best cutter I have. I just wish I would be able to get my BK7, USMC, 119 and master hunter back here. Though they havn't came in the mail yet.

Have a good one guys.

We think alike. I know the limitations of my knives, and I've yet to break one of them. I've battoned with folders, make kindling with a ka-bar every day. Cut trails with a tramontina and haven't had a problem yet, know you knives and know the limits and you won't have a trouble in the world.
