Well, I'm an idiot. (Warning, mild gore.)

Near identical thing happened to me a few months ago. This is before an application of super glue. Good luck and speedy recovery!

fingers heal quick, next week it'll be mostly closed up, but give it about 3 weeks before some heavy use, trust me, I know, dont ask.

Oh and the stitches hurt getting pulled out, nobody tells ya that

My worst cut. Tripped and started to fall and the only thing I could instinctively grab was the edge of a corrugated aluminum panel. I figured I'd be able to superglue it, then I saw it and nope, this was gonna take duct tape.

That nubby thing with the white specks is the bottom bone of the pinky. Stupid is as stupid does.

Lol, I just hope it doesn't hurt more than the two lidocaine shots I got last night to numb it up. They were waaay more painful than the cut.

Yep, the shots were the only thing that hurt. The cut itself, never felt a thing.

Hate the finger cuts. Left side of my right index finger is still mostly numb after stabbing a blade along the knuckle. That was two years ago, takes a while for those nerves to grow back.

that's not normal, it took about a month for my nerves to grow back, and it happened while my finger was healing. as long as its not black and falling off you should be fine though

Some nasty cuts gentlemen. inkynate, I hope it heals well with no problems man.

Talking about the lidocaine shots...........I run a grinding shop and freshly sharpened planer blades are the devil. I've been stitched a bunch. If you can think of it, ask the doc to squirt some of the lidocaine into the wound BEFORE sticking you. It's gonna sting, but if they'll do that and wait just a minute or so, it sure makes the actual stick tolerable in comparison.

I think at one time or another, we have all been there lol. Best wishes and hope you heal well and soon.

Oh, yeah, that takes me back...
First drop with a fixed blade, a BATAC, and I reflexively catch it. By the blade, edge in at the base of my forefinger. Pretty deep, bled like crazy but healed up well, just a faint scar now.
Yep, on the next drop, a whole new reflex kicked in...jump back, hands up. Lmao ;)

Hope ya heal up quick & clean, with no loss of function or feeling.

The culprit, still my BATAC user... :)

I think I cut the main nerve on that side of my finger. I stabbed my leg about 12 years ago and the feeling has only come back about 3 or 4 in down from the wound in that time. Still numb on top of my foot where it meets my leg. Doc said I would just have to watch about getting a cut or something in that area as I might not notice it right away. The numbness is only in the top layers, the deeper down you go the more feeling there is,kind of like when you have your hand fall asleep.

Thx Jaxx!!

I've definitely dropped knives before for whatever reason and thought I had the hands up/feet back reflex down cold, couldn't get out of the way this time though.

Nice tip Hard Knocks! I'll do my best to avoid future lidocaine injections, but will keep that one in mind. I like to think I'm not a total wuss, but those shots really stung lol.

Once again, thanks to all! I've enjoyed the comments and stories; misery loves company :)

Great group here

Yikes! I bet that stung!

BFS - Holy crap!

Here's my last effort. And I hope it's actually the last.

Rob, what the heck happened to you? That looks like a severe cut to me. That thin, razor edge on the 1311 would make an ultra nasty cut on just about anything it touches. I thought for a second that you dropped your WTF during one of your chopping sessions, although such a wound might require more than an ER visit.

Hope you resolved your situation.

Dang Rob, nasty dog bite there.

No problem man. I start sweating the moment they break out the needle, lol.
