Well, I'm done.

Maybe we show post a " Found your perfect knife ? Then post some pics !" thread.

Its funny but ever since I won a BRKT Aurora at last weeks Ct. Wilderness Gathering I fully concur with the sentiments of the OP. I think I'm done too! The Aurora just somehow seems perfect and all I could ever really need in terms of a woods knife. Paired with a saw in the summer and an ax in the winter, for where I spend most of my woods time I can't imagine needing more. :)

I have a barkie on my wishlist too, Bravo-1 with stag scales. I just love stag and bark river has some great knives with stag on them.

I can't help but comment that in a thread discussing the end-all, be-all knife for some folks, there are no pictures. :grumpy: ;)

Ok Spooky.... I will help you out here. Here you have a few pictures of my Bark River Aurora (mated with a Bark River Camp Knife I bought at the very same time)

:thumbup:I myself will continue to search for the elusive perfect knife...:D I find that owning different style and brands help in the decision process;) Onward...:p Glad to hear you are satisfied that is great to hear BRK&T did so well,I own 4BRK&T..

Fore those who like the Aurora and Fox river, but wished it had a little more beef to the handle, there is this. It is the prototype that we all played with at the CT gathering.

Jeez I forgot about this thread!

Sentiments still true but never did the pics...I have about 200 pics to upload over the next few days so will get some of the knife too!

Sorry guys!

I don't think it has a name yet. It was sent to Kevin I think to pass around to all at the CT gathering. I believe it will be made available at some point. There was another with a slightly thinner handle which not all liked as much. I since I am a little guy did like it though. They both cut great. Their is more info here. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=551719

Are ya still done ?

That was my thought too, Pitdog :D

The Aurora is a great knife, except it had the opposite effect on me. It didn't want to make me stop buying anymore, it made me want to get another......and I did.

I started with a green canvas micarta as a "safe bet." When I found out how much I liked it, I had to get this one....

I also have a fox river on order, they will be made soon

Yeah.....................this is just crazy talk...are you drunk? You can never have to much steel around....period. I offer you a one time deal, take back what you said about being done...and you can buy more knives without any of us making fun of you. This offer is over in 24 hours.....so just take back what you said...and we are still good to go.

Are ya still done ?

LOL!!! Yep, still done...

I guess I should clarify that I'm really only done the "one knife" search...there is some special purpose stuff I would like to have as well. For instance, a Schrade Sharpfinger would be a skinning-specific blade that I'd still like to buy.

I guess I would sort of like to own a traditional bowie but the ones I like are too expensive for me! I would also consider buying a Grohmann for patriotic reasons...but I probably won't! But that is all fun stuff that I would be buying purely for the joy of getting it. I don't have any user-knife needs that are not met by the Aurora and other than getting a backup I can't think of any other knife I would want to have in the bush instead.

No, I really have no call for other one-knife tools!

LOL, yeah I was a little drunk and the wife was looking over my shoulder :D
I accept your offer and also just realized that I NEED to get a Barkie which is under 4 inches in blade length so I can legally carry it in NYC parks. :D

Maybe if I got a Canadian camp and an Aurora, I would be done (well for a week or two;)). I'm with Gene on this one... I have a hundred great knives that would serve me well, but I have decided to embrace my disease and buy "em all.....
