Well...It's Friday...

First lesson I received when I moved to tx 13 yrs ago was the proper conjugations of you all and you... is all y'all and y'all ... yuuns is new for me... will have to add that one to the vocabulary

"Yu'uns" seems particular to Madison County, North Carolina, though I've heard it up in Yancy County as well. Both these counties were particularly isolated during the War Between the States, especially as there were very few slaves up in these mountains and very little love lost for the flatlanders and wealthy eastern aristocrats beating the drums for war. Madison and Yancy were split on remaining with the Union or supporting the Confederacy, and Madison quickly earned the name "Bloody Madison" - in no small part after the infamous "Shelton Laurel Massacre". It seems a group of Home Guard boys from down in Buncombe County took it upon themselves to round up about a dozen men and boys suspected of supporting Union activities and shoot them in a tiny churchyard up in the far reaches of the county.

Anyway, enough of the history lesson. Madison and Yancy still retain a bit of that feeling of isolation, and I'm sure not complaining a bit. Yu'uns come on and visit anytime.

Damn I wish I knew the models better. There are two or three that look really nice.

If you've got questions about particulars, please ask. These guys are more than willing to help out. And as was already said, it won't take long.

Definitely this! Just post up the IMG # you're curious about and someone will let you know!

Tony,
My maternal grandparents were from Grayson County. Va. and used Yu'uns. The rest of family all used Y'all. Course they also wushed in a crick. & whooped chilluns wit a bacca stick or a yaller jacket bush.

Now you know that we're just looking for a frikkin excuse to talk about knives. Could be an inch of snow coming here. Panic is beginning to set in amongst the populace. I'm supposed to go grocery shopping, but am content to eat the squirrels and rabbits I've got in the freezer. The lady is having nothing of it...insisting that we cannot survive without improving our stock of coffee and other essentials. I'd rather skin myself with a dull blade than venture near that insanity. Like the Russian bread riots of 1917 or something. If I go near the store, I'll be sure to carry my Revenant and XDS.

South of the Mason Dixon line, snow is received much like news of Sherman advancing toward Savannah. We don't do it well.

I'd rather talk about knives, drink the remaining coffee, and wait to see who does what at 3pm. Please ask questions, mjbline! Lots of them! If I don't know the answer, I'll make something up. Odaon will send private messages fixing whatever I screw up.

This makes me so happy!
Bill...I have a spot reserved for you around my campfire any day! Yu'uns can choose your whoopin' sticks when they hang the bacca in the field across the road.

Odaon!!! Ya got my back here?

As we name these models, I know it helped me a ton as a beginner to go the the actual Fiddleback Forge web site and read up on each of them. I'd strongly recommend it.
Also, Allen will open up a Preview thread about 1pm today. Usually this happens sometime around 2:30, but might be earlier as stated. The preview describes each blade for sale, the price, materials, steel, etc. Definitely check that out. You'll see it in the Fiddleback Forum.

447 is a Ladyfinger.
453 - I need help with that one.
444...top one I believe is an Asp. The other...?

Thank you Jerry

Thank you. I knew one was an Asp but the others I didn't know.

Tony,
"across the road"= Yonder? :)
Same here Brother. It does sometimes take me a day or so to get my ears tuned when I go home. It is a slightly different dialect than here in Roanoke.

I draw stares when I speak overseas in India or the Phils ;) LOL!! They thought they knew English !

That Duke is a nisun.

Bill

I've got your back Tony!

444 - Asp (swedged) and Sneaky Pete
447 - Old School Ladyfinger
453 - Woodsman

The Duke is less pointy and has a bit more belly then the Woodsman. Big Sneaky is about the same length as the Leuku, Duke, Woodsman category of knives.

Ugh, my head said Woodsman but my fingers typed Duke. Thanks for validating!

Preview is live. Sorry for the delay. Trying to get things squared away here at the shop so we can get out before all the crazies are on the road with the weather.

Just noticed the new burlap, interesting stuff.

That Asp is killer, and I don't even like the looks of lime liners. In fact, the entire Sneaky Pete line is excellent from the Asp to Big Sneaky. Great egos and woodcrafting blade profile. The Scorpion is probably a nice little knife too, though too deadly for me to handle.

I failed to mention I will unlock at 3pm as normal.

I will be a little slower and confirming claims today, going to try and leave by 3:15 today, but I will confirm as quick as possible. Thanks for the understanding.
