We have an unexpected day off today(kinda for me), so I managed to get the thread done yesterday. I will be working from home this afternoon.

I will post the Preview later on when I return from some things I need to do this morning. I will be back at 3pm EST to unlock the thead.

Good Luck & Happy Sharking!

I'm willing to branch outside of "blue," and in fact already have with my oreo Stubby Muk. But, in most every circumstance I will be carrying just one Fiddleback at a time, and when I catch a glimpse of the knife in its sheath or take it out to use it, I'm going to want to see: Blue. Fiddleback has released a stunning array of dyed blue wooden handles over the years, in addition to the navy Shadetree that I love; hopefully they haven't gotten it all out of their system, and there is more prime Blue ahead, appointed in a way I like. :)

We have a few showing up tomorrow
Lots of blue this Friday.

Also? I love how a picture of Andy's Special Christmas Gifts are on Fiddleback's public Fotki....

Is there another auction brewing?!

LOL
I took the pic and gave him my memory card. I guess that is where he decided to put it:D

My thoughts on that Camel Thorn Nessie! And is that a Woodpecker? Been so long since I've seen one of those made I've forgotten, but it doesn't look like an EDK...

I'm pretty sure it is. Andy retired the original shape with 6 known examples and then introduced IIRC, the Woodpecker II. I like that blade shape and length.

Unfortunately by 3:00 I'll have gouged my eyes out and reached the extreme western frontier of the internet as I just started a new job with the Army Corps of Engineers here in Kansas City and have 0 leave and 0 sick leave. It's my fourth day on the job and it looks like I'm the senior person present.

Swo...

I'm home sick in bed. I'll be around if you need an assist. The only issues are that I may fall asleep...and we're having a bad-ass windstorm up here and my internet has already dropped twice this morning.

But if all holds together, I could give you a hand if you need it.

Good Luck & Happy Sharking!

Thanks Phillip for the info on the Ladyfinger. That is exactly the configuration I have been hoping to score. I'll give it my best shot today...

I have something else to say that is best said before the 3:00 EST unlock. Win or lose today, this will be my last appearance on a Fiddleback Friday sales thread. After 3-1/2 years and 175 or so Fiddleback Fridays, I have completely burned out on this process as an attempted buying method. Many many hours invested in scouting, strategizing, copying, adjusting computer setting, F5'ing, praying the internet connection is good, pasting, posting, etc. Then wait for the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat. In all those Fridays, I have experienced some of the former and much of the latter. I don't regret the past, but I have come to realize that I have invested all the hours of my life I want to spend on a process with a limited chance of success. The bottom line is that I find no joy in the process, so I will spend that time on something more productive like maybe a knife review.

I want to be clear that I am not done with Fiddlebacks, just done with Fiddleback Friday as a means to buy one. I am sure that others have felt this way in the past and just quietly faded away. I have always been very direct here about what I see, observe, and feel on this forum, so I thought that I should be clear on this subject too.

Happy New Year and best wishes to everyone in 2017.

Phil

Is it just the photo angle of the two runts being different next to each other or is the Scandi runt blade alot smaller?

Thanks Tony, but I'll give Phil an even chance since it is his last day and all... Hope you are feeling better!

Question... what happens to prior Fiddleback Friday knives that were not purchased? Are they available?

My experience with this is that if it was a relatively recent posting they may still be available. Often times they go to the various dealers. If you shoot Phillip a message he can tell you if it is still around.

I don't believe my messages work. Tapatalk is poor with messaging
