Dr said she probably wouldn't last more than a few months. Well being her she lasted over 4 years. She passed away Dec 2024. We wanted some time to get this service right as they have many friends and family all across the country. Going to be a great time with family and friends.

It was a big change. We moved them from Charlotte to Wilmington, NC December of 2019. Dad had Alzheimer's and mom Dementia. Dad needed help with everything. They lived with us for 3 weeks until their assisted living was available. They were in this same facility moving from assisted to memory care to skilled nursing. Of course during this time I only visited when I was home which was every other weekend. My wife who was their POA for all visited more and she did everything. Once mom passed it was weird. I would come home and I would forget that we weren't going to see her. They are in a better place. Dad didn't know us for few years. Mom had her good and bad but lots of confusion.

I'm so looking forward to the weekend. Going home to be with my bride! Tomorrow we are going to an airshow at Air Force base that is about 1.5 hours away. Thunderbirds are there this time. This is the largest free airshow in NC. Lots of F22 demos and others. It was a great show 2 years ago with the Angels and everything else. We are looking forward to it. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Spend some time with your loved ones.

Going home today to see my bride and youngest daughter is in town so that's a surprise. Of course there are chores to do as I'm gone all week but hopefully we will get the bike out Sunday for a little bit before I have to leave. Our office doesn't even know the sacrifice working out of town is. Especially for us Superintendents who have to be onsite early Monday morning and can't leave until job closes on Friday or Saturday. When they come out of town they travel on company time. OK rant over. Its going to be a great weekend.
