Yeah, pretty funny. The man is too busy for his own good most of the time. I am glad he got to get out and spend some time in the woods with his family. Time away from it all can be worth more than a man's own weight in gold.
 
Hello folks!

We talked this morning and in an effort to organize Fiddleback Friday's a bit we are going to implement a 3 Knife per post sharking limit. Hopefully this will make things easier on everyone.

At this time we are still not requiring that you post the full description - we may move to doing that in the future but we're not there yet. However, we may put that stipulation in if we offer up a particularly unique knife (which we are hoping to do more of. :D) - to give everyone a fair shot at claiming it.

For clarity's sake - the 3 knife per post rule would apply to only the first 3 knives you list. I.e. only the first 3 knives you list will count. So, in the example below the pink flamingo would not be counted, even if the bellybuster had already been sharked by someone else. In this instance you would get the chopper and the bush knife. Sound good?

"I'll take the butternut chopper, the green bush knife, the ruby bellybuster, and the pink flamingo blade."

These changes make good sense along with the suggestion of requiring a full description post for any special knives or pairs :thumbup:
 
I like it also. I'd also like the numbers, because it's much easier to see if stuff has already been sharked, especially since Andy is developing a larger set of patterns.

I also think it would be fun to limit one bid per minute for the first five minutes or maybe give a five minute research period before declaring the frenzy active.... Eg, Listing is posted at 1520first 1520 entry is taken, then first 1521, then first 1522, up to 1525; or alternately, the list is posted at 1500 and "I'll take it's" will be accepted starting five minutes later at 1505.

It's fun anyway, but I'm getting frustrated by the long posts that were obviously pre-written. I could do all that, but it takes it from fun to work for me.

But first, I'll take any Blackwood, Ironwood, Cocobolo Monarch or Bushcraft Karda and any Shadetree on Recluse or Leuku. :p

This got me wondering how to write a script that checks the forum, and immediately replies with a text input. Just wondering if it could be automated? I haven't played around Blade Forums enough to figure out the thread numbering conventions, formats and the such to try such a thing, but it got me wondering.
 
I feel like any post today that's just "i'll take the bone" should be dismissed and ridiculed accordingly :D
 
Thank goodness I never openly posted that "I love the bone!" Whew! I almost embarrassed myself.
