It all started with an iPhone 3GS, then had to have a new iPad, then iPhone 5 , and of course one would not be complete without a 27 inch iMac, never thought I would be a PC deserter, but I have to say that I wish I had turned and run a long time ago, these products are sweet, now for all the conversions I need to do. No worries I have not lost any preorder lists, ha. Kept a PC netbook to track old emails, not going to go through all the hoops to convert juno, I will just use mac mail. This iMac is running on Wi Fi and blows my PC out of the water and the graphics are unbelievable , nuff said. Anyone else running an iMac ?

*smacks head* Nooooooo! I'll save my PC/Android?Linux geeky rantings. I'm just glad you're happy and still have my name at the top of lists for the 0560CFCB, 0350OR and damascus stuff. :P

Anyway, I'm glad you're loving your tech. Independent of the OS or device, it's just always nice when someone loves their new toys. I get more bothered when people get a new piece of tech and immediately complain that it doesn't do everything all the time always. Enjoy Mr. iKershaw!

I used to be all PC. Used to build them and run some servers. Still have a few for media PCs. I went all Mac in 2007. First one was an iMac that I still have. I now have a 15" Macbook pro, an iPad 3 and iPhone. Couldn't be happier. Apple is awesome!

Expect the naysayers to tell you about the Apple myths, but as an ex-pc user, I couldn't be happier.

I have a 2009 iMac and a 15" Macbook Pro. There are a few viruses out there. I run Sophos Anti-virus. It's free and it seems to work.

To me having an Apple is like having a Microtech..Its all fun and dandy till something breaks..your can't fix it yourself and cost alot to have them do it....:D

been using Mac's since 2000 but i'm also fond of PC's as well. for phones however, i'm an Android user. good luck with the iMac. it's a great machine. i use one everyday at work.

Well, not everyone can be right all the time :D

Nothing personal, this is one of my favorite pictures on the subject.

Just for background, it is not a possibility for me to buy a mac at this time. Just too expensive. My 400 dollar desktop that I have about 70 dollars of upgrades into over a ~5 year period works just fine. I do, however, have an iPod touch that works quite well. I am fully satisfied. I am coming up on having it for two years, and can't even begin to quantify how many thousands of hours of audio I have gone through with it.

Ever since they went to the BSD-based OS X, the platform has been much better than Mac OS of old. I'm actually in the market for a new Macbook now. The battery on my old one exploded (literally blew the metal casing of the battery pack apart). I'm leaning towards the 13" Macbook Pro w/ retina display. It is a bit pricey though...

I hold the belief that most of Apple's hardware specs are not competitive at their price point. However, it's great that they recently starting putting IPS panels (Retina) in their Macbooks. Funny how folks have touted them as being great for artists and designers - before they had IPS panels, the factory display had terrible color accuracy and viewing angle.

Havn't left PC, but I love iOS. I am on my third iPod Touch, and just picked up an iPad back in March. The iPad has pretty much replaced my PC, except for movie storage and some games. I have an Android phone (because it was cheap), but really wish I had laid out the money for an iPhone. I despise Android. It doesn't hurt that I have been using iOS for years, so I have a huge App library for it.

If I had the money, I would prolly go Mac, but right now I don't have that kind of cash to outlay. As time has gone on, I have moved away from semi-hardcore PC gaming, and after that, I found that the performance advantages of PC pretty much completely disappear as a factor for me. Reliability, and OS I know how to use are pretty good.

That was a funny picture, but it is more like car vs motorcycle in my opinion. ;)

Apple certainly makes reliable hardware and likes to keep their customers happy, you can't fault them on that. *bites tongue*

i know the 15in MacBook Pros with the retina display do not offer user accessible RAM or storage space as both come from the factory soldered in. so you gotta eat the absurd costs for both instead of paying a fraction of that cost and installing it yourself. my co-worker just dropped $3700 on a new one spec'd out

I've had my macbook pro for a few years. Right now it's got major battery bulge and the trackpad has more or less lost its click sensitivity (though tap to click still works)

We are running a few Hackintoshes in my studio. For about $1200 worth of pc parts we have machines that are as good as a $6000 pimped out Mac tower. We have a guy that puts them together and puts the Mac OS on them for a minimal fee. It's been a lifesaver for our studio.
