Well, She's Gone.

I live in Central Florida, and our family goes to Disney World a few times a year for birthdays and whatnot. Years ago I even worked there as a third party participant, meaning outside company contracted for a specific job, but we went through all the same Disney indoc, so I understand the goings-on of Disney.

To each there own, but I carry a knife (and gun) in one capacity or another everywhere that I'm not physically searched or scanned with a wand, DW is no exception.

Losing a prohibited item in such a non-permissive environment is a risk you take, and if lost or misplaced, you need to just chalk it up as a learning lesson and move on. DW has no desire to find and return prohibited items. I'm not saying they're going to find and keep it intentionally, but they're certainly not going to make any effort to help you recover a knife that you should not have had in the park.

As a side note, thieves are also keen to the fact that these items and others of value are left in cars by mandate or choice, and present easy targets in the wide expanses of DW parking lots. This is true for all the local parks and resorts, both Disney and the like. I find things in my pockets or bags and under my direct control are far more secure than locked in my unattended vehicles.

I wish you good luck, but work on letting go by enjoying the process of picking out a replacement.

When I was at DW I had an H1 dragonfly in my pocket. It has become my travel knife of preference. It is colourful and small so people don't perceive it to be a threat, easily disappears in your pocket, has great utility and if lost, although it would be a drag, it is not what you are experiencing now. I to lost a sebenza but I found it after I think about 3 weeks. I was sure it was gone so I went through the same emotions as you did. Mine was a gift and although I appreciate that loosing a knife isn't as bad as sickness or world hunger, I still felt pretty bad about it. Eventually, just when I was sure it was gone forever, it did come back so you just never know.

Sorry to hear.
I would not go there another time to try an search for it, I'd rather save the admission for the replacement.
The Sebenza is your property and they should return it to you if they find it.
That's because they have to gives you the opportunity to make good.
If searched properly you could have (and of course would have "gladly") put it in your car.
Chances are someone else found it an kept it.
All the best.

I had a 5 day pass and unfortunately i lost it on day one (monday) i have looked each day I've been in the park and still no luck. I leave for home today and I fear I will never get it back. They say they ship the item home free of charge. We will see what happens I guess. My buddy's dad is a owns his masonry company and he needs an extra hand. I will be making 10 dollars an hour and I will be working 8 hour days. So there is my silver lining. I will have the funds for a new knife after 5 working days.

I agree.

There's nothing you can do about it at this point other than dwell on it, which is absolutely counterproductive. Good on you for looking past that and focusing on WORKING for it's replacement. Wise beyond your years.

A quick update. My carbon fiber sebenza and copper investigator pen are still missing and I am certain that I will never see them again. On a brighter note, I purchased a new sebenza today. A small micarta 21. It is a great little blade with 75% lock-up. It is not a replacement for my lost buddy, but it is helping take away the sting.

Have a great day everybody!

Nice to see you get another Sebenza, and true to your word no less. Enjoy.

I can't remember what board I read it on, but I just saw where a guy had lost his knife over two years ago, and got it back yesterday, so don't give up hope.

Congrats on the new knife. It's nice to read about a younger guy working to fix something that bothers him, too many younger people just expect it to be given to them these days. You'll do very well for yourself in the future with your determination to get what you want and your willingness to work to get it. Buying something with your own money always makes it sweeter, with how quickly you put together funds for that beauty you should be feeling good and standing tall.

Happy Fourth of July.
Maybe maybe you can find a great excuse to use your new knife this weekend, like opening the hot dogs or digging out the wicks on the fireworks. May help ease the pain of losing your other CRK :)

Hey everybody, I thought I would revive this thread just to keep my situation fresh in people's minds. I just want to ask for you all to keep your eyes peeled for a Carbon Fiber Small 21. It will be used and have no information. If anyone sees anything that fits into this category please let me know. Be it ebay, craigslist or your local newspaper I would love to be notified. Once again I lost this knife in Disneyland near the ride Splash Mountain. Thanks for the help! I am attaching the picture here again so everyone knows what it looks like. It was in this pocket sheath with a copper pen (not the one pictured).

That stinks, man. But sweat pants. Come on! Hopefully you practice the 2 is 1 and 1 is none belief and have a backup at home...again, sorry to hear it. I think sweat pants should come with an internal waist band zipper pouch/pocket.

I feel for you bali! I also once lost a CRK Zaan after a St. Patricks day of drinking. I was never able to forgive myself, and for a long time never allowed myself to spend that amount of money on a knife. After about a year later, I finally pulled the trigger on a CF Lg 21 Insingo and couldn't be happier I did. I still cry a night sometimes wondering what could of happen to her! :(

Hey everyone, I thought I would bring this thread back up just to keep the word out. I know a lot of you have feelers out there and I hope that someone stumbles across it for sale somewhere. Thanks

Edit: I guess I never posted anything about the looks of the knife. It is a small 21 CF the titanium handle has the scotch bright treatment. The titanium and cf both have a couple of nicks from where I t fell off of my truck and the blade has a couple of nicks in it as well. If you see something that fits ( kind of fits) this description please let me know. Thanks again

It would have been nice for a far more positive update, but good luck in any continued search. :)

I distinctly recall being slightly pissed off about 20 years ago when I took my kids there and had to take my little slip-joint all the way back to the car.:o Oh well, their park, their rules.:)
I guess most of us, if we live long enough, go through similar frustrations. I forgot to remove a key-chain knife going into a county fair and had to hoof it back out to the mega parking lot to stash it. Luckily it wasn't confiscated. Long story short...lock it up in your car before entering a public venue like, e.g. Disneyland.
Sorry OP for your loss.

What would ever posses you to carry your Sebenza in baggy loose sweat pants on fast moving sharp turning amusement park rides? Well, lesson learned! Everybody takes a beating sometimes. Knives are replaceable. Sorry for the loss tho and happy to hear you purchased a new one.
