Western Maryland Knife Groups?

Does anyone know of a current knife group, or simply another knife guy who would like to get coffee and compare thoughts in knives in general, in any if the following areas:
Hagerstown
Frederick
Germantown
Martinsburg
??
 
I've been trying to get in touch with local knife nuts (I live off I-83 in MD at the Mason Dixon line, White Hall, but work in Baltimore). I either have work conflicts, or vehicle problems. The next time I am going out to Frederick, I would love to meet fellow knife nuts.

Baltimore would be too far for you to travel, but the Chesapeak Knife club meets the second Monday of every month. I am not sure about the Mason Dixon knife club, which meets in State Line, PA (the Mason Dixon knife show had a show at the Frederick fairgrounds every year, I believe they are moving the 2012 show to State Line or Waynesboro.

I don't believe that either the Chesapeake or Mason Dixon knife clubs have their own sites, but any search will obtain information.

A good place to meet in Frederick would be Edgeworks ;). Lots of restaurants up and down the block to grab a beer or coffee at.

I also know of a little bbq place, thanks to a member here, a short ride to the east ;).

Wow, I need to check this sub forum more. Almost missed this

I'm in Germantown, and I'd like to get together with other knife nuts to talk, pass some around, and have a cup pf joe, or suds. I've met Dan, and I can show you the secret BBQ hold out if you like, but you have to take the oath of silence.:D Don't want the word getting out too much. Meeting at Edgeworks is good too, like Dan said, lots of places to eat on Market street.

I think I know what place you guys are talking about, its that place next to the building near that street right? ;)
 
Holding out on a good bbq spot is unman-like. I'm up that way a couple of times a week. WHERE'S IT AT?!!!? Somebody send me a frickkin' PM!

We won't leave anyone out of the loop, don't worry.

In addition to the BBQ place in Lisbon, and Salerno's in Eldersburg, there's a place in Sykesville called Baldwins Station. Good general food as well as very good burgers. A little more up scale but nice place right on the wooded section of upper Patuxant river. Salerno's may still have their all you can eat crab feast, but I don't know for sure being this late in the season.

If we meet in Frederick, there's a place on south Market street called the black hog, and then theres a Tex-Mex place just down the street called La Paz for great beef burrito's!

Hey guys, I just ran across this thread. I would be in for getting together. I am in MD at the PA line in Emmitsburg. Frederick would be a great place to meet up. I've been into knives for about a year now, so I am sure I could learn a bunch from you all. Keep me in the loop please.

Emmitsburg!!!

Man, you're right up the road from another great BBQ place, Chubbys. Is the little blue building still there on RT 15? I have not been up that way for a year or so. That place had some really great Texas style brisket. As good as the Lisbon place.

Yes, Chubby's is still there. Funny, we have only eaten there twice since moving here 6 years ago. There is another BBQ place just 5 minutes away at the right turn to go toward Ski Liberty. Awesome BBQ!
 
Okay, I'm getting hungry for BQ!

Lets set something up soon, so's I can gt some ribs or pulled pork and we admire some knives!:thumbup:

Okay, we have to do this! Toyz, I think you've told me in the past where you're at, I'm in Norrisville man. Gotta meet up.

Scott Gossman's campout would be a great place to meet next year.
 
Lets pick a few days and times.

The Frederick area / Emmittsburg area sounds good.

I'm only about 45-50 minutes away.

Anyone else game?
 
Geezzzeeee... beginning to wonder why I joined this forum. Im way down in the Shenandoah Valley, below Harrisonburg, Va. But I may even make a trip up your way sometime to meet with a couple of you guys. It surely would be my pleasure if I was invited. Let me know when you'all might get together, I'd at least like to give it some consideration.
