After owning a large Curtiss F3 wharncliffe folder and like a dumb a$$ selling, I am starting realize how much I liked a folder with a wharncliffe blade. I can't afford another Curtiss at this time, and wondered what would be some other good wharncliffe folders. The Curtiss was one of the best knives I have ever owned. I have heard about the spyderco delica wharncliffe and that may be what I buy.

The Curtis F3 is sort of a modified Wharncliffe with a bit of belly (as opposed to a more conventional straight edge). If that's what you like I will suggest the recently renewed Spyderco Perrin PPT.

I'm not really into coated blades. BUT ... the black DLC blade on the S90V Yo2 (with brown G10 and black hardware) is just super handsome. Best looking Yo2 imo.

I don't care for flippers and I hate assisted knives, but the Kershaw Leek is a really good cutter. Good steel too. I haven't had one in years but I've been really tempted to pick one up for the last like 4 months. If they made a non assisted one I'd pick one up in a heart beat.

Just get one and remove the spring.

I'm pretty sure you have to add a detent hole because the tortion bar acts as the detent or something like that. I don't really care enough to do the tinkering for a knife I might not carry at this time

You're getting good suggestions from everyone. A few I would recommend for wharnie/sheepsfoot style blades for good value. These have been out a while and you may find one used for less.

Brous Blades Silent soldier
Spyderco Roc
Spyherco Squarehead
Cold Steel Tuff Lite
CRKT Pilar
Kershaw Leek
Ontario Carter Prime

Look at the Techno 2; about 6:55 in.

Another vote for the Yo2. It may have been designed as a fighter but it is a really good edc knife too. Better then most I’ve tried. I want to try the delica but I think I’ll wait for a sprint steel.
