Bad What’s happened to the USPS

I had a package that was supposed to be sent to me via usps on December 18th at 11 am. It was marked delivered at mailbox, but it turned out to completely vanish. I already cut my losses as I assumed it was mis-delivered to the wrong address and the person decided to keep it. Fast forward 23 days later it showed up as an Amazon prime package, I don't have Amazon prime. It's all very random

Dont cut your losses! If you ever check tracking and it says delivered yet is not there, contact your local office and provide tracking. They will be able to geo locate it amd tell if it was indeed delivered to the wrong box. Also regarding the amazon prime, are you sure the sender simply did not reuse an old amazon prime box? Its pretty common.

In all the years I’ve bought and sold on Bladeforums the majority of the times the package was sent or received via a 2 day priority flat rate box. The rate has increased by 50% (what hasn’t?) but the 2 days is now more like 5 days. I recently had a box go 350 miles within the same state take 6 days. Comments?

UPS and USPS have gone lower than low, so has ebay. Can't trust them, but so far FedEx is doing good for me.

dericdesmond I hear you. I didnt think about geo location however where I am all thr mailboxes are clustered into small p.o boxes so it wouldn't have helped me as the usps likely (I thought) scanned it as delivered and stuck it into the wrong p.o slot. It was only a DC3 stone I wasn't losing much sleep over it.
With UPS they dont surprise me anymore, if it's not nonstop delays and never delivering when they say they are its thrown boxes and crushed box corners, or they simply drop it from waist high and you here a *thump!* when your stuff is delivered. A lot of times here the carriers enlist overflow drivers so you get randos in personal cars delivering and they are usually the nicest with your stuff in my experience

Yeah, priority vs standard post isn't really worth the extra money anymore.

I'm still grateful for USPS though... fedex are the absolute dregs.

This has been my experience for a while now, I rarely bother with Priority anymore because of it.
