What’s your wish list look like?

Every time I say I’ve bought my last knife, three more show up that end up going on The List. Sometimes they don’t outlive whatever phase I was in that put them there, but some endure the mood swings. Either way, The List never seems to get any smaller. And of course there’s also the impulse buys that happen so fast they never make it to The List at all (last of which being a Case Westline now on order), but that’s a whole ‘nother story. Going through my current KC wish list, I got to wondering what other folks have on the radar, or if you just less formally wait until something interesting catches your eye. And don’t anybody try to say you’re done buying knives, because we all know that’s just not true.

Anyway, here’s what’s currently waging my never-ending war against common sense that’s subject to change be added to at a moment’s notice:

WE Knife Kitefin frame lock - black Ti/blue stripe
QSP Dolphin - Abalone or blue resin
QSP Leopard - black linen micarta
Bestech Beluga - blue/black G10
MKM Jens Anso Goccia - red lava fat carbon

Your first sentence sums it up for me, as well! One knife that’s been on my list, but not always at the top, for quite awhile is the ZT 0308cf. A couple of times they were available to me, but the timing wasn’t right. Right now, I’d say it’s probably at the top of my list.
 
It's not so much a list...
Remember the Sears Wishbook? That's what it's like, but more mental. In my head I have a bunch of things circled that I hope Santa brings, but I know I'll never get them all, and there's a new catalog every year, so...

Right now, the micarta Smock is competing with a 15v Military 2, if either one happens to still be available next time I have money. In the meantime, every other week finds me on this manufacturer's website or another, fine tuning my exact specs for a custom, that then goes into my cart, but is never purchased. I get the, "hey, you forgot something," emails but just can't pull the trigger because I looked over on the auction site and made an offer or a bid that I know I won't win but still have to wait and make sure. Of course, the minute that drops off my radar, something I'd never buy for myself is offered for free if I spend $ahunnert&plenty on one of the big online retailers where I do have a swollen wishlist, and that's how they usually end up getting me, so I can try it out without guilt...

I haven't been keeping up with new folders lately so looking around has such a plethora of new high end production folders. I'm really liking some of the slim designs around.

This is what I have found so far.
 
In the front of my brain right now -
Yojimbo2 15v. The best of all the Vs.
Para3 w/DLC magnacut
Sage5 Maxamet(or maybe scales for Rex121 first)
LH Zaan that I will then DLC
Set of OG scales for Manix2 15v that will end up costing as much as a knife after you add in hardware and clip
A small custom fixed blade with custom leather sheath
List subject to change ;)
 
An Oz XL for $700 or less.
A Kershaw Tilt in DLC for $1k or less.
A Kershaw Tilt 50th Anniversary for $700 or less.
A Kershaw Volt Composite 3600 for $600 or less.
A large plain CRK drop point Sebenza for $400 or less, provided that Kyle Vallotton says that he can do a DA auto conversion for me if I buy one. Still waiting to hear from him about that.

The original price for the 50th Anniversary Tilt was $500 & I could have bought one but wasn't convinced that I'd like it when it was released.

I've since changed my mind about that. Had a chance to buy a DLC Tilt (rarely seen) but I had to buy a 3 Tilt set for around $3k to get it (along w/the Anniversary). Already have the basic Tilt & didn't want to do that.

There are no other knives on my "buy list" right now but that doesn't mean that something might turn up that I'd want to buy. ;)

It looks like a blur. Not the Ken Onion knife; rather, the list is always hazy, always changing. Depends on what feature or design grabs my interest at that moment in time, what I can find that meets that interest, what deals I can find, and how much money I got in the toy fund. (never enough.)
