Even Santa would raise his merry white eyebrows at that list ! 🎅

Black Friday sales are doing some damage to my credit card. I found a great price on a ZT 0562 with micarta, and couldn't resist. If it's something you really want it's not so bad to succumb to the deal. If you really didn't crave it, a price cut probably isn't reason enough to buy it. I just went through that with a knife from a famous designer who is popular around here. It just didn't resonate with me. For someone else, it's an opportunity.

So would my wife. 💀

I combined the wish list with a list of knives I already have, and found that there were a lot of duplicates among the folders, and a lot of fantasy scenarios among the fixed blades. The idea is to get to a wish list which I can realistically own, and use.

I'm down to 21.....

Was able to,get two in my wish list a Buck 102 in dymondwood and brass and a Buck 55. I wanted a drop point 110 in s35vn and nickel bolsters but it went fast and I am not ready cause marital problems if I spent thwt much. 😀 There is a clip point version but I remembered I have a 110 in nickel bolsters I gave to my dad years ago, maybe a 1988 25 anniversary knife, so I just find the buried treasure in my boxes.

What I really would like is another Horsewright knife, maybe a Paisano in AEBL and mesquite or a Cowboy Toothpick in same.

I have a rotating list of what I am looking for parked on the Big River site. I'll usually bump a few to the top to let my wife know that those have been on my mind recently, so she can pick an choose what she wants to spend. Don't worry, I give her the website of a couple of shops here on the forum to actually buy from. The river site is just easier for me to navigate and for her to see my list.

Currently I have a few things top of list that I would be totally happy with for Christmas. I've got the Kabar Slabby up there, a CRKT Redemption, a Recon 1 XL, and I have about half a dozen cold steel bowie knives that I would be happy to have.

I've got pretty specific tastes on what I want to spend that is high end, so most of the stuff I purchase for myself is from a LKS if I want something that really makes me beam when I am going to spend over $300. However, it's easier to just turn her loose on some of the regular mass produced stuff. She wants it to be perfect, and if I really gave her a list of what I want, she would feel overwhelmed and fret about getting the "right" thing for the money it would cost.

I'm kind of at the stage in my collection that there isn't much I don't have, and collecting more is just kind of accumulating, but knives still spark joy and they are easy gifts for me :)

I mostly have karate sparring gear on my wishlist.

Knofewise a minimal SAK with a blade a saw a magnifying glass and a scissors would be nice

No material possessions wish list here but in that category I do wish to continue to realize that I already have way more than I need, be content with what I have, know that adding something else that doesn’t get used is not going to make me happier and finally that I can look at and appreciate something without feeling a need to purchase it.

That's quite the list. I'd never seen the Reate Bushido before. I'm not a big CF fan for scales, but there are certain types of CF grains I like. What a cool front flipper and unlike anything I have right now. I think I'll start watching the secondary for that one.

Right on the Bushido. I’ve picked up a couple other Reates on the secondary market at good prices.

As for the list, I don’t expect or intend to chase all of them. But they are the ones that have been appealing to me for a while. If I can snag a few, I’m good.

"Wish List"?

Depends on how much I could spend.

(1). Just now, I am looking at changing my EDC Leatherman Wave Plus for a Wave Alpha. Still n to sure if the trade-offs in tool selection (pro and con) or the esthetic changes are compelling enough for me to lay out the severe hundred dollars . . . high $100 to mid $200 I am seeing.

(2). If I were to buy a fixed b lade for camping, it would be a Chris Reeve "Backpacker".

(3). Historical knives: I am slowly acquiring WW-II era pocket folders, particularly if issued to the Masrines. I have two that were USMC issued, but not marked ass such. Another is the knife issued to the 10th Mountain Division Ski troops. My wish is to gather a few in good to great condition for every branch of service.

(4). In collectables: I have always regretted not buying any of the Chris Reeves one piece line when they were available at retail . . .before they were discontinued that is. Same goes for a few of the Schrade one piece knives, also now discontinued.

Of course, any Loveless knife would be nice to have in about any condition. I'd love to have a sub hilt Big Bear just to hold and look at.

Other useless eye candy . . .one of the Darrel Ralph Madd Maxx folding daggers in some combination of exotic materials would be one.

So then, that is my wish list.

Have you seen a receipt from the grocery store for all the holiday foods?? Yup…kinda looks like my list. Haha.

But off the top of my head…
1. Prometheus Beta Ti (version 2 that I recently lost)
2. TBDPKCC 88
3. Foursevens xcarryology Preon
4. A John Doyle custom

I have a ZT 0562MIC incoming and I wish it would get here. It appears winter weather has made a mess of UPS. Same for a $23 Petrified Fish 818 I ordered today. Beyond that it would be nice if usually warm Houston would return to normal instead of northern cold.

Update, the ZT should arrive 12/5

My wishlist is surprisingly small.
The only thing I can think of, I'm afraid to say as I can't afford it currently.....some day id like to have a Bare Bones Dozier knife.

I'm thinking the numbers made must be pretty low as I Rarely see them.
