Just wondering what the consensus is for busse fans on what their favorite 1911 is. It's a poll and not every brand will be there so the bottom category of other with encompass the smaller names.

I'll second the TRP OPERATOR. Carried mine for almost 6 years for duty. I would never turn down a Wilson or nighthawk.

Another for Springfield TRP. There are many more expensive (Semi) customs out there, but I think the TRP is the best you can get for under $1500.

RIA for me. It's a "budget" 1911, however I'm impressed given the $375 price tag. That's not a lot to pay in this day and age for an all steel handgun. Whether it be cast or forged. It is what it is.

For me, I own many of those brands but if I had to pick one of the ones I have it would probably be the Dan Wesson. Although the Les Baer is a runner up

Springfield Armory for standard off-the-shelf stuff and up. Forged slide/frames, lifetime warranty, have a model to suit just about any need, one of the best costom shops in the biz.

Dan Wesson for upper range 'semi-custom' pistols. While not quite the bargains they were a few years back, you'd be hard pressed to get a better assembled 1911 at just about any price.

Wilson Combat for Top End semi-customs. He's been at it since about the beginning of our current era, top notch components, lifetime warranty, and is actually a true custom shop (will build to your spec) unless something's changed.

Maybe one day I'll be able to afford a Nighthawk, Les, or Dan. Right now, my Colt is the best 1911 I currently have, or have owned. It's a New agent that's been back to Colt for some warranty issue prior to me. It shoots like it was meant to. I added the VZ's & the overpriced screws, but other than that, it's factory. Sights? we don't need no stinkin' sights!
