What 8-9.5" INFI?

Here's a few cruddy cell pics. I threw in the Rodent 9 since the OP is interested in it.

Let me know if you need any other angles.

As far as needing a longer blade? I say no...but they are a lot of fun. The B-11 is just fantastic, and the Basic 10 LE is underrated in my opinion. It's lighter than the NMSFNO and chops well for its size & weight. Don't ask me to choose a favorite. The NMSFNO is my favorite 8" knife & the B-11 is my favorite large knife (closely followed by my DF & B-10.) I have yet to use a BM whose handles I can tolerate, but that's just me.

Thanks Flux- much appreciated! :)

As much as I wanna like the choilless b10- it looks like a giant butter knife without the choil. (Although the actual "tactical butter knife" is pretty awesome.)

I agree with the statements that the nmfbm and kurki knives are too darn heavy to carry all day as well, but I do want a longer blade, and it looks like it'll have to be 11" to make the purchase worth it since my nmsfnole isn't leaving.

It appears that I'll be waiting for the nmlbshbm *choilless!* (or whichever way you wanna stack that monstrous abbreviation) and If I don't love it then I'll hunt down a b11- and have Busse stick the b10 handle on it.

I've been considering getting the newer basic handle put on my B-11, but I want one with the older handles as well. I think I may hunt down another B-11 and get the newer handles put on it so that I have both.

You will definitely not be disappointed with the B-11! It is an amazing blade and the older basic handles are just fine.

I know what you mean about the Basic 10 LE, but I still think it is damn good looking.

Best of luck!

emt, it seems that you are going to have to do what many others in your shoes have done before - buy 'em, try 'em, sell 'em.

I finally got a chance to get a few cell pics of the SHSH variant. I think you need one of these. I forgot how awesome it is.

They came with awesome edges too.

I agree Rich. I think I might wait until the SHBM comes out in the LBS version...but just as Peter shared his insightful thoughts on the Sar 8...can someone take some stabs at the anticipated LBSSHBM? This would be in regard to slicing, chopping, food prep, etc....

Thanks

So, let me understand. You want us to SPECULATE on the properties of an as yet unknown knife? Is that right?

Here, let me help you. It will be amazingly awesone at every task anyone could possibly conceive. Redwood trees will tremble and fall before it. Firewood will practically split itself. Game carcasses will separate as if by magic. In the kitchen, it will outslice and outcut any chef knife ever made or imagined.

Clearly, given this unprecedented level of performance, you should set aside your entire knife budget is anticipation.

Better now?

A simple, "I don't know" would have sufficed. But I guess sarcasm works just as well.

What exactly is the difficulty in speculating here? The only difference may be grind and weight/distribution...no?

But those two factors have a huge effect on how a knife behaves. Without one in hand, we cannot begin to guess how it will perform.

Example: the TT KZ from Blade 09 should have been amazing choppers. But they had a grind that was very fat behind the edge, significantly detracting from the performance potential. When that edge was thinned down, the KZ could finally deliver.

Do you want your big knife to be a blade heavy chopper? or have nore neutral handling to make it quick in the hand? The Busse fan boys here simply have no idea what the NMLBSHBM will actually be like, although we await it's arrival with bated breath.
