How about a little love for the pile sides of our knives? The Mark side always seem to garner all of the attention. It has been my experience, that often the pile side is just as nice, if not nicer than the Mark side. Anyone else? Let's see them!

At the risk of sounding like a fool what is a pile side?

Sorry I am just starting to get into traditional knives and there are so many terms as to make my head spin. I think my next knife will be a traditional of some sort.

It's the back side of a knife, the side without a shield. (if there is one).
