What are the LEAST FAVORITE Knives You Own?

The other thread was so popular that this question occurred to me while rummaging around my knife collection. Many of us buy knives on impulse and most of the time we're happy with our purchases. But surely most of us have on occasion bought a knife or two that for one reason just never grew on us. (Doesn't mean the knife was necessarily bad; it just wasn't what we thought we needed.)

The one that springs to mind in my case was the CRKT Ryan 7 w/teflon finish and oversized thumb notches. It looked nice in an online ad, but the blade was thick and stubby. The outfit that sold it to me was fairly reputable, but had not reflected the fact that the steel had once been AUS 6A, but had been quietly dropped to 420J2 by the factory.

Because of the stubbiness of the blade, there wasn't enough plain edge, nor enough serrated edge to cut decently and the blade dulled rapidly.

Anyway, that's my most recent. Yours?

Another CRKT for me, the Prowler. I got it 'cos a got a good deal but the blade chipped and blunted so bad after some medium use that I don't think I'll use again...

Stainless Spyderco Dragonfly just doesn't seem to work for me, I'd trade it in a minute.

My Spyderco Wayne Goddard, not sure why I bought it. Can't do anything better than my Endura.

Mine would be my Bear MGC damascus tanto blade butterfly knife that I bought on impulse...what a waste of money. Also I would have to say that my SS Delica that I bought thinking the blade was VG10 and then after I got home realized it was AUS-6 is one of my lest favorites.

Bought a United Cutlery POS at a Gun/Knifeshow 25 years ago. Thought I was on top of the world with the big blade and Kraton handle. :o

Over the years as I learned more about knives I realized that the 1/8" blade play was not normal and that the cheap steel would not hold an edge. :grumpy:

Thank God for these forums - I have learned more here in 6 months than in my whole lifetime.

Dang.... saw the title of this thread and my immediate thought was "CRKT M16". This is a knife I found, and I sure understand why the previous owner lost it.

CRKT leading with 3 votes.

Any Case knife:jerkit: made after 1975. Seriously, if I'm not happy with a knife, no matter how much I paid for it, I sell it and are happy to take the loss:) . That's production knives only, I have much better taste in customs.;) One leaps to mind though, Native 2, good cutter but much too thin to get a grip on it, heavy enough to pound nails... and I'm a big Spyderhead!!

Mine would be a kriss bladed ccc butterfly knife dubbed by me as "The Cursed Blade". That knife has cut everyone who's tried to manipulate it. Its blood thirsty!

gave my crkt m16 away too!! hated it . i also hate my sog mini x-ray vision, the serrated teeth broke off , cant hold an edge and looks stupid.

Weird...I love my M16...anyway, my least favorite is probably my Spyderco Paramilitary...it's such a brilliant design, marred by so many QC defects....I'm always intended to send it off to Spyderco to get it fixed...but...

CRKT K.I.S.S.

Worthless lock, bad steel, inefficient cutter, flimsy... not even worth detailing how everything is bad about it.

Yeah, that'd be one.

Benchmade 855. Poor blade to handle ratio and, in the specific case of the one I bought, the worst blade grind I've ever seen (off center, with a "dip" near the tip that makes the blade look bent).

Bucklite lockback. It's actually not a bad knife -- inexpensive, yet it came with a nice belt sheath, seems to be well made, and lock-up is certainly solid. I just can't find any love for it.

Man. I remember, when I was a kid, how I thought that a Bucklite would be the ne plus ultra in a light lockblade. Never did get one for some reason.

My least favorite knife has to be this crappy Master Cutlery Scorpion I once got free with a purchase of 500 rounds of .40 S&W. What a POS.

absolutely, the crappiest knife I have.it was a gift. I can't bring myself to regift this knife I'm afraid someone might cut themselves due to the terrible lock.

Cold steel culloden. Ignorant design. Too big to conceal. No guard. You'd wind up slicing your hand with every good stab. Serves me right, an irish american shouldn't be buying a scottish dirk :)
