What are the must-have Buck knives?

...The Buck 110 is a standard for a lot of people, even if they don't end up carrying it, but I really like the Buck 110 Slim Select. It's a great budget knife and gives you a lot of what goes into the 110, but much lighter and with a pocket clip. There's even a pro version, made with upgraded materials. The Slim Select definitely punches above expectations of what a budget knife can do and gets a lot of use around the house.

I agree with you, 110%.

In my humble opinion, that's the second "110" Al Buck woulda' designed/built if he woulda' been around to see the lightweight/one-handed opening "EDC" craze of the last three or so decades.

For me, the "Slim Selects" are so great that I've never seen the need to buy one of the Pro's, except to enjoy the premier materials of a Pro. They have Buck's incredible 420HC and addressed a few things that kinda' "dated" the iconic 110...light weight, stronger tip, pocket clip, and the one-handed opening of the thumb studs. As you stated, those little 110 Slim Selects "punch" well above their weight class. I bought one when they first came to market and was just amazed by them, and immediately enamored of 'em. The 110 SSs are so lightweight and unobtrusive that I can't tell you how many times I've been looking for mine, only to find that it was still clipped in my back pocket.

I'm a fixie guy and am always amazed by some of the gorgeous folders that many of the guys here post. With that, I feel that even some of those guys could appreciate the 110 Slim Select. It's a great folder, and an incredible value.

I've got the 110, 110 Auto & 119. Don't need/want any more.

It’s probably already been said but I’d say for Buck fans , the 110 , 119 and 124 are a must. I had a 110 back in 1988. I learned to sharpen on it and it was a good , solid knife. However , they don’t really interest me these days.

I've always preffered the 112 to the 110. The short blade/ big handle and the slightly tamed clip point have made it an enduring favorite for me. I recently got a 301 too and I really like that as well... and for me thats basically it. Buck has always OWNED the folding hunter, so IMO everyone should have at least one, and with 3 of buck's 420HC blades that 301 represents an impressive amount of blade life for relatively little money.
